    Default An Austech OpenPLi image for the DM500 - download today

    As I mentioned before in several other threads, with the new OpenPLi development site you guys can now make what you want for your E1 (DM500, 56x0, 500+, 600, 7000, 7020) boxes. So I decided to do a little demo for the austech.info E1 DM500 users.

    In this demo version;

    1, added an austech link into the webif about page - see ticket 45 added the link direct to austech
    2, ticket 44 to downloads.pli-images.org (so you get the latest files)
    3. ticket 46 (sort of) only used the australian c/ku band region and removed sample European bouquet (sat's from 68.5e to 180e c & ku bands)
    4. made the plimedia (8bit) skin the default skin(in keeping with the OpenPli theme)
    5. changed CCcam.cfg for the austech users and their networks (irdeto 2 and NDS cards should work out of the box so to speak)
    6. Working MoviePlayer as well

    and a few other things

    ()

    Allot more things can be done to enhance the software, so get programming guys and take it to the next level. I am happy to get feedback on this too.

    Good luck..

    No i never added the extra lib files - for another day as I was trying to save space so everyone can fill it up with their own goodies.

    As to the downloads (newcs), simply update the dload menu and when it is updated for Jade3 it will be updated for this Austech OpenPLi demo too.

    As per several emails;

    If you press the Yellow button on your remote control you will find all your card or cs details under the CCcam PPanel in this image by default.

    The /var/etc/CCcam.cfg is already done for you, just change the cs details if you have to. Remember the first time you use this version please use your RCU and go to BlueButton | Softcam setup | GreenButton

    perhaps it might be useful to include the OzTIVO plugin in there, written by our own nfnovice?

    Basically lots is required, as the 600 is an OE box where the 500 is a CDK box.

    PLi are the first to open their source code to the world for all the E1 boxes, so this is a huge win for us the users.

    You can read more about it in this

    I did this demo to show what can be done and to get the guys on here going... This could be developed more as people have suggested above, and put back into the tree for everyone to use, however this version is to localised to us here in the asia pacific region for everyone worldwide.

    you can roll your own images with this pli .. I have been down this route and done it for my DM7000. Here are the important things what I have learnt.

    1. Follow the instructions absolutely and make sure you have the required environment installed . (one of the required packages missing and it falls over)

    2. Make sure you have roll it once as standard before you try and change anything
    (see point 1)

    3. then you can start messing with the image components to do your own custom changes - at this point you have to know something about the image and where it stores files and plugins and stuff (how big they are) and how theses things interact so you can change them

    4. its a very satifying feeling when you can get one of your changes (ever so small) to show up in a home rolled image.

    5. The most important thing I learnt was to show respect to the guys who have been doing this for years and continue to do it for the masses who will never be able to stumble through all that crap.

    Me for one - I am happy to go back to being beta tester rather than home roller for my future images ..
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

    I think you mis-understand a bit here, the current image if you look has about the same amount of free space as a max-var image. With the current version of scam the only advantage is being able to connect to a CCcam card server, else the older version does the same as it which can be dloaded and installed in this demo image.

    There was a fix to correct Sky Brazil subtitles type . It's available since 26/07/2009 CVS version. The new SifTeam for DM500S it's ok about that, for example. I have tried this Austech OpenPli-version (I prefer Pli images) but subtitle doesn't work. Someone can help to understand why?

    Thanks in advance!

    Brazil.
    Marc66 a few quick points;

    1. Subtitles work perfect in this Austech demo version of OpenPli, my kids use them here everyday as I do, and if you need screen shots I am happy to provide them. Have you read the and learned how to enable this and the new teletext option? is an enhanced version of Pli Jade3

    2. The comment about OpenPli and Pli is out there in left field, as is the next generation of Pli Jade 3 - where you can roll your own.

    3. This version will not work in Brazil unless you change the satellites.xml and add your ones, as this was written for the Asia-Pacific region.

    I loaded your image via manual software update after ftp'ing the image and rename to root.cramfs. It worked first time and then i messed something up so i decided to start from scratch again and install it again.

    This time i get the blue screen saying loading please wait.... This flashes on and off a few times and then nothing happens.

    Please help what can i do to fix this.

    thanks.
