Talking TomTom ONE 3rd Edition with working TTS

Hi just thought id share as i finally was able to get the spoken street names working with my TomTom ONE 3rd Edition (512MB)

    here is my setup
    P N A :TomTom ONE 3rd Edition - 512MB
    DeviceName:TomTom One V3
    BootLoaderVersion:55130
    NavCore:8417.1255
    Current Map: Australia
    Map Version No:835.2419

    model.txt
    x40light

    setconfig.txt
    changedtext:TomTom One V3
    btoff
    fmoff

to get TTS working don't use LoquendoTTS, use VocalizerTTS instead
simply copy VocalizerTTS folder into root directory of TomTom,

In menu setting select voice samantha computer or tom computer and thats it.

for me it works fine with samantha, no slowdowns or any other problems.

    (50MB)

    hope this may help someone...

make sure the folder you copied to the root directory is called 'VocalizerTTS' as it has extra wording from the download.
Also I wasn't happy with Samantha as she talks too fast. using Serena (British) she is much better. yet to try on the road so see how we go

She sounds much better but unfortunately cannot pronounce New Zealand Maori street names....need maybe an Australian one or NZ one to get them correct. If anyone knows of another computer voice that works would you post here please?

A few years late, but i just followed all the awesome tutes on here and fixed my One XL, but when it came to the Street names I couldnt work it either till I Followed this post's last steps

"4) Open the Config folder, then open the setconfig.txt file. Make sure you remove the line ttsoff if it is present. Below is a copy of my setconfig.txt file for my ONE v1 (New Edition):

    changedtext:TomTom ONE
    bton
    fmoff
    SDid:1
    usesetting

You can copy the above exactly as is into your setconfig.txt file if you wish. "

    Default VocalizerTTS

I must be doing something wrong. I dont see a config folder...
I copied the VocalizerTTS (FOLDER) to the root (no extra characters) but my device doesn't have samantha as a voice option.

Then you probably need a different navcore, such as 8.562 or 9.170:

    Follow this simple tutorial:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244
