    Default set up satelite tv

    hi.

got a 85 cm dish, managed to get optus c1 and pas8 satellite n the one dish, got about 60-70% on each lnb. works ok for now

how would you be able to tune into optus d1 satellite to get the abc and sbs channels.

dish is on a homemade stand about the height of a normal satellite dish tripod

    any information would be good

That is a intermediate configuration and if you got that far then you shouldn't need to be asking this...

    If you can get c1/d3 (156e) and is8 (166e), d1 is in between @ 160e.

You need a multi lnb holder (bought or handmade), like this one and a disecq switch (cheap as), on the same page.

I think if you are going to that effort you could consider a motor like on this page @ HORIZON TO HORIZON KU MOTOR ..

You will want to consider if your receiver supports the rotor etc.

I'm surprised you're only getting 60-70% on an 85cm. Have you got the LNBs skewed correctly?

I'd suggest mounting the Multi LNB holder and placing an LNB in the centre position, and then pointing the dish at D1 first and tuning in those channels as well as you can. You should get over 90% signal strength easily.

Then mount the other 2 LNBs. Looking into the dish, the one for C1 should be mounted to the left of the D1 one, and the I8 one should be on the right. The skew for D1 and C1 should be at around 7 o'clock while the skew for I8 should be at about 5 o'clock, assuming you're on the east coast. Get the optimum signal for each bird seperately before moving onto the next LNB, and you should manage it quite easily

It would have been better to start a new thread, rather than digging one up that's 9 years old.

Again... the OP's thread is over 9 years old and he hasn't posted again in it since, or even visited the site for 7 years.
