What method are you using now?

Star Trek has what is called structural protection, this means that if it isn't correctly ripped you get the scenes in the wrong order. AnyDVD, the later versions, ie 6.5.9.5 posted earlier, can fix this up and you should be able to back up OK.

Transformers 2 has similar protection and is also handled OK by AnyDVD 6.5.9.5.

A friend found that using a dual layer disc for the backup worked first time for Transformers.
Also Night Museum2 burnt over 90% of 2 single layer discs before ejecting them as a failure.
    A dual layer burnt perfectly.
And that was using AnyDVD 6.5.9.5 in all instances.
We were wondering if the program reads the capacity of the blank first and although doesnt say so, either works or fails.

Star Trek is a little more difficult than others I've seen.
Ended up using RipIt4Me with final cleanup disabled which takes a fair while, producing some 42gb of files on your hard drive with all the scrambled chapter permutations. DVDShrink can then be used to shrink the main movie down to a DVD5 size.

The title to select for region 4 is #21

The way i found to work was to play the disc first and note which TITLE number was playing then use that info for ripping with your prefered ripping program, making sure 'ignore read errors' is selected in the options (if available).
