Default trying to get foxtel sub

i contacted foxtel to see if i could get a subscription with them.
they told me i'm in an area serviced by austar...
does anyone know how i can get a foxtel subscription?
i want to use their card in my dreambox. tried a mates austar card and it didn't work as they are married to the box. i was under the impression that the foxtel cards are 'unmarried', therefore i can use one in my dreambox

not only that, i like the packages foxtel have.

Foxtel cards are also married to provider STB's,

so you can't use your card in a different Foxtel STB.

But, you can use a Foxtel card in a third party STB (like a dreambox)

Have you got a friend or Relative in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, (Foxtel Area)

Arrange for him to get a sub STB installed at his address, you Pay your share of the Foxtel Bill, & then you take the Sub STB & card back to your place,

You need to have a Satellite dish on C1/D3 with a 10700 LNB at your Place

(But don't tell Foxtel what you have done)

all my equipment is set up for it. (toroidal dish on c1/d3, d2, d1)
so a cable sub card will work in a sat box? is that what you're saying?
i dont see why it wouldnt as nds is nds is nds.
if encryption is being done at the distribution point i guess it should work.
i'll have a chat with some rellies and see how i go.

so just to clarify osirus, a foxtel sub card even though married, will still work in a third party box (DM600S)?

Yep, don't tell foxtel. They will cry. It undermines their business plan and bottom line when people relocate their cards and boxes efectivley allowing a $20/month subsrcription. You've gotta feal sorry for them

Try to get a Foxtel Satellite Sub STB (not a Cable STB)

you can then use the provider STB on your Satellite dish

(if you do, I wouldn't connect the phone line)

    No,they do not support diseqc,

If your using a Dreambox, a Blue Foxtel card (from a Standard STB) is easier to setup than Orange Card (from an IQ STB)

(Don't know if the Standard STB is still available ?)

Suggest you do some reading, about an Orange Card in Dreambox & a Blue card in a Dreambox,

I dont think they are , the only sub you can sign up for these days on their website is an IQ or IQ2. They were offering standard up until last month ( going off the google banners I have seen on Austech for Foxtel ) but I presume now everyone will getting an orange card.

i have two fuxtel cards here one is blue and the s/n starts with a few 0's.
the other is orange and the s/n starts with a 4.

both have irdeto printed on the back of them.

    i thought fuxtel used nds?

anything i can do with these cards or best used for defrosting the chest freezer?

Mine says NDS on the back of the card,

    Are they Old cards ?

The Foxtel cards need to be linked to a Current Foxtel subscription,

(i.e they need to be Activated & working)

What Sanity is is correct, it may not be possible to get a Blue card anymore,

as they were only being installed with Standard STB's,

& Standard STB's may not be an Option anymore, only IQ or IQ2,

i believe they are. they were given to me along with a spongebob oz* card which all 'fell' out of the back of an installers van in adelaide.

are the spongebobs still being used?? and can i use one? scam reports that there are subscription details there.

the orange foxtel one subscription details are just 0A000, i guess this means the card was never activated. and is destined to scrape ice or flaky paint off the side of my house.

someone else may know more than me,

But I think they are just ice scrappers,

What you need is an Activated Working sub card installed by Foxtel,

(& their STB's are guaranteed to update the card & just keep working)

To my knowledge no-one has cracked Foxtel NDS in Australia,

their ird2 stuff has been cracked...
are we not smart enough for that?
my assumption is that the smartasses who have done it are being just that and keeping their mouths shut.

probably best that nothing gets posted as i'm sure that oz* reads this forum and a few others i can think of.

if anyone knows anything about this sorta thing drop me a pm pls.
