what about my*? same deal?
sorry 4 hijacking
Why not just it on your PC
Just play it through any recorder! DVD, Video, Camera, HDD.
Fergs:
Foxtel have made sure you can't just browse through the videos and copy them to your computer or burn directly to a DVD.
The only way to do it is play it on the iQ and record it using a DVD recorder. There really is no other way around it.
copying off the mystar:
If you are watching the program live you can record onto an external dvd/hd recorder.
If you are trying to record a show that is already in the mystar box it will have macrovision. Jaycar sells a video 'enhancer/stabaliser' that will remove it.

Correct, the IQ recordings are encrypted and won't playback without a valid card inserted. In saying that there're 2 options.
1. You can playback and record from analogue output to VCR or DVD recorder.
2. A 3rd party receiver PVR like Octagon, Mediastar or Dream record paytv decrypted in xvid or divx.
hmm thanks guys..
What if i slap a hdd into my relook & record onto it,??
can i just copy it off via the network then to my laptop ??? or caddie..

Yeah, that would work. As long as the Foxtel card works in the Relook, it will record the shows and leave them unlocked on the HDD. You're free to do what you want with them after that (might require a quick conversion to divx, though..)
