    Default CCcam Server problems

    Hi

I have now got a DM600 and a DM500. i have a ubuntu computer set up as the CCcam server with CCcam 2.1.2 on it. it has a Jaycar Card reader set up on it.

I am getting this when the dreambox is on.

    "
    14:40:06.911 CCcam: login from 192.168.0.5
14:40:06.912 CCcam: user dm500C login attempt from 192.168.0.5
    14:40:06.914 CCcam: client dm500C@24e74e4cdda85c3e, running CCcam 2.1.2
    "
now when i try to view channels on the dream there is nothing like i have no car in it.

The config on the dream config.cfg is as follows
    "
    C: 192.168.0.10 12000 dm500C pcp10
    "

The config on the server is as follows
    "
    BOXKEY: /dev/ttyS0 35 CE 5F D0
    SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyS0 phoenix
    F: dm500C pcp10 0 1 0 { 0100:000080, 0622:000000:1, 0500:000000:2 }
    "

the card reader is on com1 and when CCcam starts the red light on the reader comes on.

i am using " just for the sake of identifiing where the code starts on this post, it is not in the cfg file
Where may i be going wrong?

    Regards

I think you need a frequency line in there somewhere...

    something like:

    SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 3570000

Is there any reason you are using a computer to serve?

I have a DM500 acting as the server, with a DM600 as a client. I use CCcam on both with no problems.

As an interim measure why not test it in one of the two dreams that you have
they can serve and watch TV at the same time
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

I have a dedicated PC running XP and I use Newsc as the Servercam. Before I start configuring, I make sure my cardreaders do just that .READ. I test them with a goldie via FM400, LMedit GGedit etc. Once that is done I make sure through the CAS3 programmer/software that the setting is at 6mHz.

Then away I go with my configs.

I found the CCcam setup for a PC was possible, but a lot of mucking around compared to a Newsc setup. I still can use a CCcam client to read from a newsc. I can have different cards on different ports to sort out who gets what. The only disavantage I s'pose is being unable to limit certain channels with Newsc. But then again I wouldn't bother.

My setup is a PC (Dual core 3GHz x 4Gig x 2 Tera) as a Server, 1 Dreambox which serves a Bluey, 1 Dreambox which is only a client and my Octagon SF918 which is also only a client (with attached E-Sata 500gig). A couple of mates with DM500's also knock on my door.

I have 2 partitions on the server mounted. Also a seperate NAS drive mounted. My Lan also has a Linkey which is attached to a Strong 4658X and a USB print server 4port attached to assist with this.

I have no pixelation ever and no problems recording anywhere.

Exactly, the DM500 is connecting to the server as shown above, but the server has no active entitlements (cards) as shown below.

    Available providers:

    +----+----------+--------------+-----+
    |Caid| Provider | Provider Name| System|
    +----+----------+--------------+-----+
    +----+----------+--------------+-----+
Remember with these cards you also need the boxkey line in your CCcam.cfg - there is an example in the demo CCcam.cfg they provide.

OP indicates he has a box key. Maybe it's been calculated incorrectly?

The OP also has seca and other none related cards in his F: & C: lines too, so that is why I guessed he does not have his CCcam.cfg set up correctly.

    Default CCcam Server probs

My advice ( i use this configuration myself ) would be install newcs on the linux pc, and add a user (such as cccamserver/password). use that to read and serve the card... take out all references to a card reader in cccam on the pc and then use the N: line to connect the PC CCcam to newcs. then use the C: lines you already have entered in your DM configs to connect (still) to CCcam on the pc.

Make sure that the CCcam on the PC uses the 192.168.x.x IP and NOT 127.0.0.1 to connect to NewCS, even though they are on the same computer.
This is pretty bullet proof in my experience.
    upgrading to Premium soon LOL
