tried that still seems locked. Trying to "manage data" in the tools closes the app and gives this message "Error:assert failed at CDP_StaticListField.cpp :646 in Garmin Mobile XT with error 0"

    Appreciate any tips..

Note: I only get a 4 digti card number -I think you mentioned 10 digit?

    EDIT

Ok I noticed that my directory structure was wrong \garmin\garmin...

Eliminated the top level directory and now it boots up ( skips all that purchase cr@p) and wants to work but still crashes when I try to change maps (same message as above). Does not seem able to connect to the gps (after about 30 min) will try again later.

Map that does come up is Malaysia!

    Regards

im having an issue getting garmin to run on my navman. ive got igo8/destinator9/tomtom/ndrive running flawless but garmin is what i really want and it refuses to play ball.

when i run garmin.mscr i get the port splitter window flashing up for 2 secs then it vanishes, running garmin.exe does nothing, ive updated port splitter and that lets me set the settings but garmin still wont start.

ive run exe check and it says garmin.exe needs core.dll version 5.0 , i have wince 5.0 ??

    any clues

NoService, some win ce devices are stripped (like a stripped race car) you need core.dll
(and some other dll files) see if you can google it and download it, place in windows folder and see if that works.

Update...... gps now connects and has Oz map working but still crashes when trying to access functionality (eg managing maps) will perservere with your suggestion. I had a look at what is installed and it (CE) does look stripped down as you suggest!

my problem still exists , ive tried copying numerous types of wince coredll.dll files to windows and other folders but the result is the same, a quick flash of the portsplitter then nada, this is using miopocket by the way.

when i use navman unlock and unlock it into wince and try garmin using garmin.mscr i get que.exe has caused an error and will close?

i think ill give up on garmin for now, stress less they say.

but why would igo/tomtom/destinator/ndrive all work flawlessly and garmin not? it cant be dlls you'd think as the others would suffer the same fate, wouldnt they?

the only thing i can think of is garmin dont like samsung arm processors or something like that as i have followed this and other forum instructions to the tee yet failed miserably

sometimes you got to bit the bullet
the issue is that these sorts of apps are not designed for every PNA/PDA

As far as I know no one has managed to get Garmin running on the navman.
You can see from this web site: the effort that people have put into it.

    RoryWquin

I had the same issue with short CardID (mine was 7 digits) - i then used the keygen1.5 + checksum error fix (took a while to fins - but on this site) and it fixed the boot/unlock problm. I now can runs the system with maps etc - BUT like you, whenever I try to select another map (Manage my Data/ Mapsets) it crashes with an error dialogue. If you manage to find out the issue with that -please pass on to me and others. Good luck, I know the frustration u feel!! Hoddo

Just wanted to know if anyone has this working on MIO C720 Wince5??
I can get it running, maps unlocked, seems fully working except one major component. No GPS signal?? Have tried every setting, no signal on any of them, does not matter, I guess I will try another app. Was just trying to update my old mio a bit, maps on it are pretty old, is there a way i can just upgrade them maps? thanks.

    Rory

Have the connection error as well, anyone worked it out. I have tried all the options under GPS but it wont pick them up. Even changed the location from Malaysia to local with no luck. iGo, Amigo and Route 66 all working fine. I also have the issue of a small amount of cutoff, I suspect that is because the resolution is 480*272.

Has anybody had any luck resloving the satellite lock issue ?

    Default Software download dramas

    G'Day Hollowman.

Just tried to download the software from the links provided. All downloaded and unrar'd OK. When I went to open the folders I get the message Garmin for Win CE is not accessible. Acces denied. I am running XP Prof. and am in the process of loading a SKU 23569. Tom Tom and Igo work fine.

I tried an older version of this software from the same links downloaded in 11/09 but the unit could not view the folder plus when I checked, there was no .exe file in the downloaded stuff.

    Any thoughts.

    Cheers

Hi I have the same problem as blindpete I have five choices though

    5 choices:
    1 Use Bluetooth GPS
    2 Use GPS Intermediate Driver
    Use Serial GPS:-
    3 COM1: TMC_COM
    4 COM2: GPS_COM
    5 com9 : USB cable
I've tried them all but it stays the same at 20%
I have a mio C520 should i try something with the port splitter provided in the download.
