Default DVB-S Digital Modulation" Lets talk about it"

    Hi Guys,

Can we talk about Digital Modulation of QPSK ?( Satellite Signal )

Since all new TV's will only have a DIGITAL TUNER, and all QPSK signals are generally modulated and reticulated in Analogue in a retirement village or apartment building for example. Hey!!! I also want my security camera to tune into My Digital TV???

    Lets talk about it.

Expensive still at this stage. Approx $2000 -2500 per channel to make your pay TV decoder rack or camera to digital. Need to be a large set up to justify the cost at this stage.

There's no price stated on that link.

That device also only modulates composite inputs, not QPSK, which you specified in your original post.

The Price is around 8 Grand. And YES it will do QPSK To Digital. This unit also has IPTV output.so you can run COFDM and IPTV at the same Time. The Maximum output rate is 24Mbits Per Second. Each QPSK Channel outputs at 6Mbits Per Second,so therefore To my understanding i can output 4 QPSK or 4 AV to COFDM. Maybe even sneak in a couple of digital radio channels.

There are two different devices shown.

The single channel satellite transmodulator and the 4 channel composite AV modulator.

Looking at the specs of the ESX-200, it appears that there are various output encoding 'options' which perhaps are not standard.

There is no mention all outputs operate simultaneously.

From what I can see, each unit has only one satellite receiver, so for multiple channels, you'd require another unit for each additional channel.

    Correct.

One is the DCC-200 Encoder which converts the 4 AV channels to an ASI stream.

The Other as you mentioned is the ESX-200. Each ESX-200 can only output 24Mbits p/s ( Total) and each QPSK Channel is 6Mbits p/s so therefore you can output 4 QPSK Channels From 1 ESX-200 Unit. The Front Of The ESX-200 has a CAM slot.

Now as i can see it, You will NOT need a DCC-200 Encoder if you only want to push QPSK Channels Through. However You will only need it to convert the AV to ASI.

Using the 2 units in combination will let you Mux 2 X QPSK Channels & 2 X AV Channels.

I am Getting an ESX-200 and a DCC-200 Encoder Tomorrow

I was assured that i will be able to run IPTV and COFDM simultaneously.

I Will Be more than happy to post the results.

This is and will be a very serious issue when analogue is turned off. But more so for the factor of the annoying factor of swapping b/n DTV and AV inputs.

Hello all,the promax is around the same price, dunno bout much ,much cheaper?rather not discuss price for this sort of equipment here. With the promax qpsk to cofdm decoder you wont need one per channel as it will convert four channels per transponder

    Default Digital Toys

    Hi Guys,

Got my Digital toys late this morning. It has been Connected, Configured and working Great.

Now lets take a look at the ESX-200 Satellite Processor.

The Front of the unit has a CAM Slot and a Ethernet port to control the settings and IPTV out.The rear of the unit has: Antenna in (QPSK), DC in & ASI in and A/V out , ASI out & RF out.

the ESX-200 has an embedded web server Allowing standard web browsers like FIREFOX to connect to the unit for Control Management. No software is needed. The unit has by default a static ip address for connecting the unit to your Lappy. Not much setting up. just a matter of adding the correct IP address to the TCP/IP settings on your Lappy.

The ESX-200 unit is also DVB-S2 compatible. now this unit can give you an output in 4 different formats. For Example you can output In ASI , QAM , Analogue & COFDM ( which is what i am using )

Now Lets look at the DCC-200 Encoder.

Its primary job is to convert the in coming A/V feed to an ASI protocol which in return is fed to the ESX-200 unit via its ASI input. The DCC-200 Encoder comes with its own software disc. this software enables the user to NAME the channels and to play around with the Audio and Video bit rates.
And it too has an Ethernet port on the back of the unit.

    This afternoon i Inputted the following feeds: 1 x DVD player,1 X set-top Box 1 x sat receiver & 1 x CCT camera.

When i log on to to the unit with its internal browser with Firefox it connected straight away and the first page displayed was its static IP Address.

In the service management section i muxed all 4 channels outputted it in COFDM. The combined output of all 4 A/V's is 23.96Mbits P/S. Now in output Measurement I found the unit launches @ 105dbuv. This is way Too much for a standard TV to handle. so i have taken it down 25dbuv.

I have just inserted a card and a cam in the front slot and after telling the ESX-200 unit the transponder details, i Now have a full list of channels for that transponder. Removed The A/V feeds and muxed 4 QPSK channels.
The result was an output rate 23.78Mbits p/s. So there was certainly not much change.

    I have now Muxed 2 X A/V & 2 X QPSK channels. working Great.

Hey I am now watching 1 x A/V channel on COFDM and 1 x QPSK channel on IPTV playing through VLC Media Player.

Sorry Go to go and Play MORE

Now it is important to note that if more than one ESX-200 is been used you would need Setup the Transport stream ID's in the second unit Or the TV'S will fail to lock into a Signal.

What are you specifically doing with this equipment?

Sounds more like a sales pitch to me.
