I use TeamViewer, access my clients computer then use Dreambox edit from his/her desktop. If you don't have TeamViewer then set up a account or just use Windows remote assistance.

Just forward whatever ports dreamboxedit uses in the router to your dreambox.

If memory serves me correctly, it just FTPs into the box, so it is likely using port 25....personally i would forward a really high external port (eg 6995) to the dreambox port 25, and set dbedit to use that port (obviously you shouldn't use default passwords either). The router should also assign a static ip address to the dreambox.

If you want to do this on multiple occasions, then you may want to look into free hostname-dynamic dns services eg no-ip, dyndns. etc.

    Cheers, RHCP.

Opps your memory failed (to early in the morning and no coffee huh?) as port 25 is your SMTP (email) port. It also needs telnet to send the reload commands and on e2 boxes the webif to do the same.

    You need to forward ports,

    21 (ftp)
    23 (telnet)
    80 (webif)

from your DM box on your LAN to the router side on the WAN. Having tried this a few years ago and bombing out (but never tired it since) I simply set up remote access to do it from the remote computers.
