Hi,
have you had a read of this not sure if its the same setup as yours cant hurt to read
Hi all, this is my first post.
I'm trying to understand setting up a Dreambox 500S as a server.
Where I'm stuck is configuring the ip addresss settings and cccam.cfg
I have a web address, which I can point to any IP, the router at this IP will then port forward to the DB500.
But in the ccam.cfg, how do I specify that this particular box is a server, and to what address or IP do i include in the cccam.cfg lines ?
eg.
Say I have a web addy of db500server.com as a web address, and it points to an ip of 85.432.34.2 (all of this is just example). Do I point the server cccam.cfg to the web addy or to the router gateway IP or to the web ip ?
If anyone has any such examples of cccam.cfg setup as server I would be grateful, I could probs understand quicker that way, and I can ask further questions if I dont.
Also, in the communication menu's, are there any specific settings that need to be made ?
Many thanks for anyone with help.

If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.
Hi, thanks. That guy is doing a pc based server.
Its help with the cccam.cfg I really need.
I'm very new to this, and I havent understood much about the cccam.cfg side of it at the mo.
Not sure if in the server box, you have to have C:lines as well as F:lines, or just F:lines ?
Also, still not understanding where the server must look, to its local router in some way or out to the web address in the configs ?
Also, I understand there must be an 'F' line with a user and pass, but what is the purpose of this alone ?
Assuming the box is up and running properly (IE, you can view TV from it) You need just one F: line for each client.
this is how i setup mine
#### Server DM7000 Config ####
#### Server IP 192.168.2.xx ####
#### My Friends who connect to me ####
###############################################
F: dm500 dm500
F: dm7000 dm7000
###############################################
## Servers I use ##
###############################################
C: 127.0.0.1 12000 dm7000 dm7000 yes
C: 192.168.2.xx 12000 dm7000 dm7000 yes

I notice in the F lines, theres no mention of port, or even ip address.
So are you saying that to server a card, I just have to use F lines with user names and passwords and thats it ?
Is this because the ip and port are determined by the box trying to connect through the ip they have been given in the C:line (or domain name) ?
Also...
You have mentioned 'servers I use', does that mean that your server box is also getting shares from other serving boxes using the C: lines you add ?
If all the above is correct, then I assume you dont even have to have a card yourself to further serve ?
