Default New Navcore for TomTom One

Hi, I have been trying to update my TomTom One to a later map.

    Have map 675.1431
    and Navcore 6.560 7914 but
when I try to update via TThome it wont find a later Navcore.

I am trying to get a later Navcore.

I really have no idea how this is done, been reading up in this forum for 3 hours, still no closer.

    Regards

is a fullbackup of the Navcore version 8.412.
    PW : demonfatal
It is optimised for ONE models.
I've uploaded an almost complete backup of my One XL-Regional (4EG0.001.08) with Navcore SE8.412.1236 with TTSYSTEM file optimized for use with TomTom 32 MB One and ONE XL device includes LoquendoTTS v6.5-6.9 US+UK English voices (standard 8.412 ttsystem also included for those with 64 MB units).

Voices are USA: Dave and Susan; UK: Kate and Simon.

NOTE: Startup/suspend/shutdown sounds may not work with this backup.

Instructions Note: this is later than the one in the download.

    1) Backup your device with Windows Explorer - DO NOT miss this step!

    2) Delete all the files on your device (Quick format will do this)

    3) Copy all files in the downloaded folder to the root of your device. DO NOT copy the folder itself, only its contents.

    4) Copy your map folder to the device.

    5) The uploaded navcore is missing device specific files. To create them disconnect the device from your PC and boot it once before attempting to patch the map if it hasn't been already.

    6) Reconnect to the PC and using the latest keygen, patch the map (may not be required if the map has already been patched on that device). The ttsystem is already patched.

    7) Disconnect and reboot your device.

    8) If it boots okay, connect to TT Home and update quickGPSfix and Mapshare. NOTE: TT Home may want to update the Loquendo voices to the latest v7.x, DO NOT do this if you have a 32 MB device as the v7.x voices rarely work on these. These will be offered every time you update, however, after a while Home stops automatically selecting them.

    9) Copy personal, sound and graphic files from your backup to the device.

    10) Once everything is set up to your satisfaction do another backup. It is much easier restoring from a full backup than having to reload everything manually.

    11) Enjoy.

Note: the ttsystem file in this backup is optimized for 32 MB devices. If your device is 64 MB, you can use the standard v8.412 ttsystem file which is included (Original-8412_ttsystem). Rename it after deleting the optimized file. You will also have to delete Config folder contents and replace it with the one in switchfiles.zip. You will likely also have to configure the setconfig.txt inside the new Config folder too.
Credits for this go to berttie !!

There should only be a 15 minute waiting period.
With this Navcore you can use the 835.2419 map ,I think you can find a working download link somewhere in thread.
For your device it would be best to check the settings for the POI's and disable them from showing up on the map screen ,otherwise they will slow down the device too much.
You can still use them for with "Navigate to ..."

    Thanks

Should the maps be in a folder called Australia or straight onto the sd card not in a folder

In 4. it says : Copy your map folder to the device.
So you need the map files in a folder in the root of your device - the name does not matter as long as you don't use special charcters or spaces in it .
    Mine is simply called Australia
You can use the 2420 ,but I mentioned the 2419 because of the ALG and IQ routes features.

I HAVE A 1GB SD CARD, i FORMATTED IT, THEN STARTED TO DO AS IT SAYS BUT MY CARD IF FULL AND ALL MAP FILES AND "8412-patched_iq-ttsystem_loquendo-tts-v65-en-voices_nomap" wont fit now, must need a bigger card

    Its all sorted,

Not 100% sure if all is now working, will try it tomorrow.

The map is only about 100MB ,the Navcore around 200 - that makes 300 MB
What else are you putting on the card??

That should not happen - it seems some files are not correctly copied.
Same for your card reader : something is not working the way it should !
I suggest to start again ,but only with the Navcore to eliminate any errors that might be caused by the map folder.
If correctly installed your device will start and complain that no map is found.

    Tried it out today.
    Here are the problems.
    1) keeps restarting,
    2) hardly any icons are active, IE home
    3) map is really zoomed out and cant zoom in.
    4) unable to go to opions or settings or what ever its called.

I give up, 6 hours of hell
would using keygen 3.1 F cause issues as I couldnt find 3.1G

The Mapsettings.cfg file from the old previous maps is not compatible with the new map version. This will cause the exact problem you are experiencing. To get around this follow my instructions from this post if you have previously stored favourites that you want to keep. Otherwise just delete the file if you no longer want to keep any of your old favourites and it will create a new compatable file for the current navcore verions you are using.

The Mapsettings.cfg file stores all the favourites and personal setting for each map and can be found in the same folder as the map.

If this does not work, you may also need to reset the tomtom by placing a pin in the reset hole at the base of the tomtom and press the reset button for about 10 seconds. This will clear out all the stored data/settings from the previous setup from memory and also create all new config files for your new navcore version based on the model of tomtom you are running.

Was the problem caused by the mapsettings.cfg ?
Are you now running a different Navcore ?

That reply about the mapsetting came in after I re loaded an older map.

Now it doesnt restart but its ever so slow to do anything so looks like I will start agin.

What map and Navcore should I put on the TomTom one. My old 6.75 was a lot smoother and faster.

    Any suggestions please

I said earlier : the official version for your model is 7.9 and can be downloaded through TT Home.
But it will only support the 2420 map without ALG and IQ routes.
