Default A few questions about Dreambox connections

I've managed to get my dreamboxes in my house up and running at last.

I have two questions, the first is, in my house there are 3 dreamboxes, is it best that they all connect to the web (CS) for their channels or is it better that one box connects to the server, and the others connect to that box across the LAN ?

If the others are connecting to the one box inside the LAN, then does that box have to have an F:line pointing to their LAN IP ?

Thanks in advance for any help

It all depends on what you're using as a server.
If you're using a pc then let them all point to your pc, if you're using one of the dreams to serve than point the others to that.

The problem is the server is remotely located, so all would have to access the internet and connect to the server. I was thinking that possibly having one box only connect across the internet, and the others remain only connecting inside the LAN would be a better way to connect ?

I wanted to try to limit the connections to the remote server, but not sure if it actually makes any diofference in doing it the way I mentioned (trying to reduce server load and keep things efficient) ?

Doing what you talking about would increase latency a bit. That can lead to pixalisation.

Have you talked to the person running the server? Do you have their permission to 'spider'?

Sometimes it's better just to get your hands dirty & give various configurations a go yourself, as what might be a good solution for one person may not be the best option for another.

Ah ok. You will only be able to reshare your connection if your server allows you to do so.

Its better to have each box conect directly to the server. What you r talking about will increase latency, plus if the main box goes down the other will go down aswell. Also you are not reducing the bandwidth usage at all because ecm request are still going to the remote server anyways wether its direct or through another box.

What is the maximum latency (i.e. ping time) before pixelation occurs? Anyone care to throw some numbers?
