the clients connected to it keep it updated with the software emu they are using.
if its an orange card you will find though that occasionally it may need to go back into its married box
I am just about to setup a linux server. Theres something I dont understand yet, and that is how a card can receive its updates if mounted at a PC server (cos theres no actual dish connection).
Can somebody give a brief explanation of how to keep a card updated if mounted in a PC server instead of a Sat box such as a Dreambox ?
Thanks in advance

Encrypted emm recived by client.
Client forwards emm to server.
Card processes emm, updates card (if client has AU enabled) / derives valid keys.
valid current session plain keys returned to requesting client.
The info is being passed from the clients pulling the emm's from the stream at their end, which are the same emm's the card would pull if it was in a legit box hooked up to a dish

Thanks for the info guys, but is it a case of having every client send the emm's, just 1, or a select few ?
And I guess this has to be setup in the F: line ?
Why would you want all the clients sending the same updates?
Just the one.......
