    Hi Kary
You need to tell us what fault is displayed. You can do this by pressing *2 which will then display a number on the display let us know what this number is and we can help from there.

Yes, * 2 will tell us. If the panel has been powered down it could be that the Time/Date is not set, or could be it was monitored and now is not but has not been programmed accordingly.

Bad tech, call them back, the service light should be cleared.

And when he comes back make sure you have a master code and if not get him to program one as this will help you to set date and time as these have to be reset when panel is powered down. And of course a user manual is handy as it explains how to find a fault when the service light is on but by the looks of it even your tech has no service book or in actual fact very little knowledge of the product you paid him to service.

My old saying read the instruction manual and 99% of your answers are covered

When I do the * 2 thing, the service light and the 8 blink. It indicates that it was the system date and time issue. It is now fixed. Thanks for all the help guys.

Well you are on the way to become an Alarm technician as you have the ability to read instructions which is more the the service technician you paid to do the job origionally.

Great though to see a happy end user and great to also see members helping out.
