hi everyone, im not sure how many people are subscribers to subscription tv on here from australia to zewzealand etc .at the moment myself and others are trying to negotiate with viacom usa which we are having sucess with viacom is a big media company in the usa. ,i think australia should have more than 1 country music channel on board foxtel austar etc ,foxtel has channel v, music max, (vh1) which is apart of the viacom channels they carry at the moment. in my mind cmt should have been kept on intelsat 2 but probably encrypted as it is a usa cable tv channel.,i was wondering how many people out there would like to see cmt return to the australia newzeland arena this is a logical channel to have along with cmc which is also good ,but as people have told me over ther years apart of country music died when cmt left the pacific rim ,who on this forum would like to see cmt return ,thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

off topic, but country music should be banned!
If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.
Do you know what you get if you play a country song backwards?

Foxtel and Austar have MusicMax , Channel V and Vh1 because it appeals to a wide audience. Country Music in general is about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit.
Good luck with your negotiations. Maybe you could call it HG2 ? And then have a timeshift channel and have the little 2 next to the big 2 like E=MC squared ? Or maybe Country Ham ?

Or maybe the whole of Australia could complain in writing to Foxtel to get it removed and something better put on.
Could you imagine Country music repeats?

How I remember the Country music played on Radio back in late 40's and early 50's.
It seemed to be a single male with a pinch or Dolly peg on his nose accompanied by an acoustic guitar that played 3 or 4 notes.
The 'music' was played at Death March speed and wailed the drought, the floods, Bushfires, Flies, Fleas and Mosquittos.
It took near 50 years before I could listen to more than two C & W 'songs' at a time without running screaming from the room.
'Bury Them Deep in the Ol Prarie' is still my suggestion for anyone suggesting more.

I suspect that country music is not a popular (profitable) venture for them, although it's personally of value to you.
I also suspect that Foxtel are not taking you seriously when you approach them with suggestions that they alter their content.
Reality is an invention of my imagination.

Isn't there some kind of country music on the 'Air' channels?
* Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by Alien, a Terminator, and the Predator.
I suspect that your suspicions are correct
Slightly off topic , but how about we all get together and see if Hallmark can be put on to timeshift ? I missed Water Rats the other day and was spewing . Then I missed a country practice and was pretty shitty for the rest of the day
Yeeaaahhh !
It was part 2 of a double episode and Terrence Elliot was trapped in a burning plane while Bob , Cookie and Esme Watson raced to the scene in Bob's plumbing truck !
I wonder what happened ? Did anyone record it ?
You are lucky cobber! I do have separate box which is set up only for recording water rats (whole Holmark in fact). I burn 3 dvd copies of every episode and keep 2 in the fridge so my grand-grand can watch it in years to come.
BTW, I got all episodes since number one. Can chuck in some posters and interviews on top. PM me
Yes, I dont mind CMT when it was FTA on Intelsat 2/8C (Pas 2/8C) a few years back.but to pay for it is another story!!! why Pay when it can get it FTA or watch through the net?
