Default Can anyone indicate a good place to buy large 2-3m solid dishes in Sydney?

I'm getting very tired of waiting on eBay for large solid dishes to add to my collection and when they do crop up, invariably they're in Victoria! Why can't I find a decent fibreglass or steel 2.4m solid dish locally for $100 (price of above dish on ebay)?

Does anyone know where I can get these at hobby prices in Sydney?

    Cheers
    OC

These 3 places are in Sydney, but I don't know if they stock what you are after.

Geez.... $100 for 2.4m solid in Vic?

I've never seen them on eBay for that price, cos if I did, I'd have bought them.

    Sold for $139.00

Obviously used, but a Sydney company is selling reconditioned steel dishes of this size for about $2000!

Thanks for the links guys. I'll look them up and see what's on offer.

    Cheers

You're upset. I would have carried this one home on my back if it were a little closer!

P.S. Actually, if my memory isn't playing tricks on me, the poor guy had to list it twice.

This price probably Chinese made Joysky or Space brand from Hualin those dishes you need at least 2.3 to get descent signal. For same price you can get the better quality Thailand made Dyanasat or Mediastar 1.8 or 2.1m work the same as the Chinese 2.3. The best place for sat gear in Sydney is they have a good display set up and honest prices.

PM sent. I have no idea what brand they are. I would think they would be a space dish but that is just a hunch.

If your an installer, you can drop into the JONSA ELLIES warehouse in SYD and usually get good prices. See catalogue.

Otherwise try Hualin, language/accent means you need to listen carefully, -I've bought PSI brand C band dish from them in times past. Nice folk.

Not tried MS direct per B52's post, didn't think they'd do C band! Thanks B52 for that.

    ummm... to receive satellite signals?"D

Without too much figuring out, I'd guess 30 installation jobs, or perhaps all as part of one large installation contract.

It really doesn't matter what the OP wants them for... supply of them is irrelevant to their intended purpose.
