Program Icons

Has anyone got, or can tell me where I could get, program icons for Polnav and Destinator. I'm making a start up menu for my GPS and am going to have four programs installed, Igo8, TomTom, PolNav and Destinator. I have the icons for Igo and Tom Tom but can't find any for PolNav and Destinator. If they're not available, is there a way of changing say a .bmp or .jpg file to .ico?

sup, did you download polnav from my thread ? if you did, the exe should have embedded icon.... (same with destinator)

The only one I could find was Polnav's welcome.png but the resolution was not good. I couldn't find anything for Destinator...I understand they are embedded in the .exe, but how do you extract them?
I googled and searched all over the net but the only icons that come up are for POI's and navigation icons.

Here is a set of icons in both 64X64 and 48X48 sizes. Feel free to use them as needed.

I would suggest that for creating, editing and extracting icons from exe files an excellent choice is the freeware program IcoFX which does just about all you need with icons. You can get it from:

Thanks for that...I can see it works for Igo8 but I just tried Polnav and it won't open the .exe, so I'm guessing its not 32 bit or there's no icon embedded in the .exe, anyway I will find this program useful.

Good stuff, I tried icofx and confirmed that the .exe in Polnav does not have the icon, any way, now I don't have to worry about it as you have provided them, thanks.

Sorry, I didn't mean that there's no icon in polnav, just that I couldn't see it in the .exe with reshack or icofx.

Not using miopocket or anything like that. Just normal progs, but do you mean for creating a start up menu? If so I'm just adapting one from a Chinese unit which had two progs on it and modifying it to cater for four.

oh ok... when i create shortcuts on my windows mobile device, it displays the icon when i make a shortcut....

Aaah, haven't tried that one, don't know if I can do it with my PNA though.
But I've got the ones I wanted now so I'm just playing with the start menu.

is your PNA unlocked ? where you can actually access Win CE ?

Yes its unlocked and I can use activesync, but now I have to apologise, the reason I wasn't seeing the icon is that I had a different version of Polnav, not the one you provided. I'm going to install yours now because the other one only works in the original pna, can't activate the map in the others.
I know there was a way of activating the map because I did it, but have forgotten how.
