Default Tomtom One V1 - No Voices

Got my TT One v1 running with navcore 8.204.9718 - bootloader 5.5106 & Aust. 8.30.2352 map. Runs just fine, except I've got no voices. I've checked all the menu options,- all seem OK. I can select voices & hear them with the 'test' option. The navcore had one mp3 in the folder,- it plays ok. I added a few more & they play ok also. The only thing I did was to delete one sub folder in the loquendo folder. It was a french voice & 240mb in size ! I saw no point in using sd card space for it. Is there a config. file or something that I have to edit?? Any help much appreciated.

If you want to remove voices from your device than you should use TT Home!
The files in the Loquendo folder are your computer voices!
By deleting them you caused a problem with the "soundengine" as some registered files are missing.

Put your backup on the device and you should be fine!
Otherwise use Home to properly delete the voice files and install them again ,after that reboot and check.
As your maps are pretty old you might want to think about updating....

DU, I didn't delete the Loquendo folder,- only a sub folder which in turn had a sub folder under it. The file names in them seemed to only pertain to this voice, not loquendo operating files.

Hi hickory, ive got a TTone as well and i found that the VocalizerTTS works best for me for TTS instead of LoquendoTTS

Thanks for the info vinnie. I'm not sure whether to re-attach the 'french/juliette' sub folder first and try that or leave it as is and attach the vocalizer folder. I really can't see any files in the french sub folder that would stop the 'stock standard' voices working, but I'm very new to this, so maybe they can.

If you have you should put your backup on the device to test it.
Other thing that might help : do a hard reset (hold resetfor30sec.) and than the TT clear flash tool.
Only other option would be to try restoring the deleted files or to use Vocalizer instead.
Even if you think you only deleted not needed files : this might have caused some other problems.
A corrupt file (or missing) in the map folder can cause the device to constatly reboot - that is why I once said in another thread : don't delete files if they are not created by yourself
