    Default TomTom 710 go bootloader

Thanks to the helpful forums here I have updated my TT710Go to NAVCORE 8.412 and latest 840 Aust maps. One question tho my Bootloader is still 4.8600. Everthing seems to work fine, so is there any point updating it or 'If it isn't broken don't fix it' the best??

Correct ! If it is working fine - leave it alone
You could however upgrade to the 5.5122 or 5.5128 if necessary to get full support for SDHC cards ,so keep it in mind if you need a bigger card .
    Tomtom GO730 ,Navcore 9.004 ,Bootloader 5.5256 ,Map :Australia 845.2661
ttmaps and Tomplayer on 16GB SDHC class6

As downunder said if you want to run an Sd card bigger than 2gig then you need to upgrade your navcore, otherwise leave it as it is.

I own the same tomtom model as yours and im currently ruuning navcore 5.5259, i was a little worried when i put it on as it came up in strange language and then froze and my unit wouldnt turn back on, luckily i got it running by doing a hard reset and holding the button down for just over 30sec and it brought it back to life.

Thanks. Running a 1gig card which is about full, in fact I had to delete stuff off it, so I may update the bootloader sometime. Is the max for a 710 2gig?

Just oneother totally unrelated question. Reality view, does it work in Australia and if so what locations, I've never seen it come up?
Oh yeah and why I'm at it, I've noticed you can emulate other devices ie. 720/730 etc. Any advantage to that on my 710 and do all the functions work?
    Cheers.
