    Default LG dishwasher E1 error

Looking at a LG dishwasher coming up with an E1 error. LD - 14AW2

A quick look on the net indicates it may require a new pump assembly.

Can anybody with experience on LG in this field maybe indicate if this is the most likely scenario before we pull it apart?

    Thanks Craig

As it was reported on other websites. Impellor thread had stripped allowing slippage on the shaft.
Pump housing is plastic welded together so it will have to be replaced as an assembly.
Disassembly was achieved by removing top and sides then turning upside down and removing heaps of screws until the bottom came off. Pump just pulls out of the rubber seals from the suction and discharge connections.

Now to wait for new pump.

I had to get a new pump for my dishwasher - LD14AW2 - for the same reason. The new pump is quite a bit more powerful according to the compliance plate, but I can't remember the numbers.

I was very pleasantly surprised how cheap the complete replacement assembly cost ....under $50 including freight..... LG parts are usually cheap.

If you buy the pump through an agent you might expect to pay double the price, depending on how nasty his parts mark-up is.

My dishwasher was disconnected, up-ended on the kitchen floor, 6 billion screws removed, pump replaced and the unit back together and working in under one hour...pretty easy job. .

Default E1 error on LG model 1403W1 dishwasher

Hi all. New here. It might be an old thread, but this is new for me. My dishwasher has been acting up for a few weeks. It would pop up the E1 error message soon after starting a few weeks ago. I thought I had it sorted by cleaning the filter at the bottom of the unit, as it worked well for a while. Now it throws the E1 message as soon as it starts, without any delay. Is it a pump issue, and if so, is it an easy fix? I'm reasonably handy with tools and following instructions.
    Cheers, and thanks. Mike.

Hi there. My pump arrived, I fitted it, all done in an hour. Problem unchanged however. I think I ordered the wrong pump. I ordered the drain pump, not the main pump. D'oh! I think I should have ordered this:5859DD9001A GENUINE LG DISHWASHER, WASH PUMP MOTOR PART 2100w, from this site:
At least I've got a new drain pump now!
    Cheers, Mike

Yes, it's the main wash pump you need.

I too have replaced a few in the same model. All rubbish!

As mentioned the impellor breaks on the motor shaft so the motor spins, but won't pump.

It's a whole assembly and a very common fault.

I replaced the pump in mine 4 times... then gave up and bought a different brand dishwasher.

Never bought another LG product again.

The E1 error is sensing insufficient water pressure, which is often due to a water leak.

A failed impellor produces no water movement, so obviously... no pressure.
