The 1018 really isn't the 918's successor. The 1018 is dual tuner E2 box.

octagon 1018 is nearly identical as UltraPlus F-9000......hear is a thread
-you can also flash the octagon 1018 firmware or vice versa but its a way cheaper to buy from NZ then from Europe

thanks guys for this - if not a little late. Does anyone know where I can get a 1018 in Aust and does it do all the things that the 918 does. Currently using mine as a client in card share.
