For many years now, I have found the following websites to be a good source of useful satellite-related information.
1/.
Lyngsat Satellite Chart - locations, frequencies, transmission formats, names of channels etc.
2/.
Enter your address and the name of the satellite of interest. Then click on the Google map provided, in order to obtain your latitude, longitude, magnetic deviation, satellite location (elevation angle, longitudinal position).
Example:
Address: Sydney, Australia
Latitude: -33.8671°
Longitude: 151.2071°
Satellite: 160.0E Optus D1
Elevation: 49.5°
Azimuth (true): 15.5°
Azimuth (magn.): 2.8°
You can click and drag the marker and zoom in - zoom out.
3/.
This website features sections for looking up Satellites, Footprints, Charts, Packages, Links, News, etc.
4/. where you will find - calculators, links and news groups, such as ...
