    Default Latest Foxtel Card

My mate gave me a call today and advises that he was upgraded by Fuxstel yesterday and the new card he was supplied (apparently an Orange Baby) no longer works with his DM500.

Is this the next stage on countermeasures the provider is implementing or does he need to change settings on his DM500.?

    He has been using NewCS1.65/CCcam2.0X.

It will be great if someone here can shed somme light on the compatibility or is it "death with the DM500" with the new cards coming out?

Dont you have to add your boxkey with an orange ? Presuming he previously had a blue ?

got an orange myself. you will need to add a boxkey line into you newcs.xml:

    <boxkey>XXXXXXXX</boxkey>

where you replace the X's with your boxkey. Plenty of info on here to calculate your boxkey

    It's not that hard.

    Box numer.
drop leading 0 and last number -
    With the middle bit
Windows calculator, change to scientific mode
    set to decimal mode
    insert box number
    click HEX
and there ya go.... a boxkey

    Hi,

At this stage - yes, that would appear to be the case, hopefully my PM will be answered and I will be proven wrong.

BTW - the new boxes start with a 1 and are 11 digit in total.

    cheers

    Hi hannible,

Did you have an Orange card working before, or are you setting up for the first time?

Did you look for the STB Serial Number in the Foxtel STB Menu ?

    Hi Osirus,

Yes had older orange before worked well, got latest orange (upgrade) tried all tricks all no good, check STB number in menu as well as sticker, they match up.

also tried mates orange (like my old one) did the boxkey thing, it worked straight up.

hopefully fernbay may shed light on this.

    cheers

yes - i did that, no good.

    1st number is a 1, second is a zero

as i have said, tried all tricks, all failed.

dropping first and last number in boxkey (the 1 and the last) dont work

    cheers

Just a question - ok,your first number was a 1 was the second a zero?

How did you nut it out then?

the hew card is plain orange with foxtel written on it - no graphics at all, basically a plain card.

Something that i have noticed though - using CCCam info - in the shares, providers and entilements sections that card shows up - but in the server section it dont show up (0 card).

Put the mates orange in all sections show the card???

    cheers

I have no experience to make that card work
    but

    1. your B: line is missing a parameter probably 00
    2. Also I can find no mention in CCcam configs for a "Newcand FILE" option, although the newcamd conf and stealth options are there.

I dont think these eiher of these would be your problem

what feedback do you get if you start "cccam -d" from telnet ?
    what version of cccam ?
please confirm that you are only using cccam not the newcs/cccam combo?

    1) fixed "B" line - no difference.
    2) unable to telnet into box - "-sh: cccam: not found"
    3) cccam 2.11 also did use combo - either worked will older fruity, wont work with newer fruity.

    Using gemini 4.2 maxvar

    any ideas?

I would suggest you get rid of Gemini. It can not be trusted. Do a search of 'adios amigos' to find out why.
