I am no expert on Strong's but i have reprogrammed a few RAI. I tried the blind scan thing too but at the end i had to either edit tp or add tp can't remember but its one of the two.
If she is in the SE Melb area If you want i can do it for her.
Hi all,
Trying to help an old lady who is a family friend, she has a C band setup and has lost her RAI feed. I am told she has a Strong 4653X so have downloaded the manual and tried to explain it over the phone.
Whats the quickest method to rescan, she has attempted auto scan but it didn't work. Is there a really simple way of rescanning without entering a particular TP? Tried blindscan but she said nothing appeared.
TIA

Hi myf360f1,
I had a similar result after trying a blind scan(for the old guy down the road)but when I went round there the new channel were there but further down the channel list .Tell her to check other numbers,it may have been placed at the end of her current channel list.

Thanks Guys, I think I will need to edit a TP, and access is very restricted but thanks for the offer joezep
To edit the TP I need to enter 3880 as the new PID?? right
Just type it over the existing one, including the S/R below it,and hit the scan button.

No. It is NOT a PID. It's a transponder (tp) frequency.
Type in the following details as required:
1/. Transponder frequency: 3880.
2/. Polarity: H (Horizontal).
3/. Symbol Rate: 27500
4/. FEC (if not automatic): 3/4
5/. Scan.
Some on-screen indication that the receiver is scanning should appear, followed shortly after by the names of any additional channels acquired.
Follow the on-screen instructions for the next step. In many cases it's a simple matter of pressing the <Exit> button until clear of the menuing system.
In some receivers, e.g. various flavors of Humax, the <Enter> key must be pressed in order to save the new channels.
Many satellite receivers append new channels to the end of the existing channel list. If previously, the last channel was numbered e.g. 151, the new channels will appear as 152, 153, 154 and so on.
Thanks Tristen, dashinson, and Conaxle.
I thought that was the case, so I can do this when I highlight asiasat 5 then go from there....
Cheers
