You'll find they're all just dummy test PID's pointing to a single low bitrate test pattern video feed on 11886H.
There isn't room for a single SD olympics channels let alone 4SD+4HD ones on 11886H so don't bother rescanning or you'll just have to delete them again when they move to their final transponder locations.

Sure are, but you'll have to do some fibre optic splicing to get any results ;-)

    12094H:
Creekside -> Fox Sports 1 HD (SD downconvert)
Cypress -> Movie One HD (SD downconvert)
Olympics Mosaic -> 4 tile mosaic of the 4 channels
Vancouver -> Fox Sports 2 HD (SD downconvert)
Whistler -> Nat Geo HD (SD downconvert)

    12135H:
Creekside HD -> Fox Sports 1 HD
Cypress HD -> Movie One HD
Vancouver HD -> Fox Sports 2 HD
Whistler HD -> Nat Geo HD

As expected all have decent bitrates so visual quality should be good. SD channels averaging around 6.4 Mbps. However 3 of the HD channels average at ~ 8 Mbps, whilst Whistler HD averages at only 6.5 Mbps.
All SD and HD channels also have MPEG and AC3 audio streams.

as an aside, I'm waiting for the Sky NZ channels to appear. Nothing yet on a network scan.

I understand that they're going to cut back on their Box Office channels for the duration, which hopefully won't mean the bandwidth is compromised. It still isn't clear what exactly will be offered other than 4 channels, some of which could be HD.

Hi is it possible to get GO! in Darwin should I use Foxtel as Pay TV service through my Dreambox? GO! doesn't exist in Darwin yet via FTA even though Darwin has a Channel Nine station.

If you have a Foxtel card & an active Foxtel subscription,

& a satellite dish setup un optus C1/D3

then I think you may be able to get the GO! channels on a dreambox,

    give it a go

The naming of the Olympics channels at Whistler is interesting. There are 3 venues at Whistler:
    Creekside - Alpine skiing events
Whistler Olympic Park - cross country, biathlon, Ski-jumping
Whistler Sliding Centre - bobsleigh, luge, skeleton

It would appear that the Creekside channel will cover the first, & the Whistler channel will cover the other two. If this is the case, it will make the Whistler channel really crowded, as there are events every day at the Olympic Park, and on 8 days at the Sliding Centre. There are 3 days where the Alpine & Sliding events don't overlap, and 6 free days overall in Alpine.

There also lots of overlaps with the skating events, curling and ice hockey (all in Vancouver), but there are 6 days without events at Cypress.

Of course there may well be re-scheduling of the mountain events due to weather, but it would appear that particularly the Cypress & Creekside channels will be covering events outside their named areas.

Just checked the schedule. It appears that the naming of the channels has very little to do with the events being staged at the various venues. Also, there appears to be considerable duplication. A cursory look shows the same event on multiple channels (sometimes on all 4) at various times.

    Hi,
does anyone subscribed to the Olimpic channels yet? Asking because I would like to know if the card is getting updated stright away or it is going to happen just before the event. In simple way, should I stick the card to the provider box while subscribing now?

    Thanks
