    Default Phoenix on DM500

    Good day all,
I am trying to get my 6 MHz phoenix to work with a irdeto ver5 sub card on DM500.
With the config pasted below the card works fine on internal slot but only a 'no or unrecognised card' error on tts/0 interface.

    SERIAL READER: /dev/tts/0 phoenix
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/tts/0 6000000
    #CAMKEY: /dev/tts/0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    #CAMDATA: /dev/tts/0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    #TRY ALL CHIDS : /dev/tts/0
    #CAMKEY: /dev/sci0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    #CAMDATA: /dev/sci0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    #TRY ALL CHIDS : /dev/sci0

My phoenix has led's on it and I see only a short burst of activity on the data led when box booting but never activity on reset led.
Doesnt the card need to be reset (send an atr to DM500) before dreambox knows it is there ?
Have tried PLi jade2 and nemesis with cccam 209 and 211.
Only the very first time I rebooted the box after editing .cfg file there was quite a bit of activity on the data led and the I icon went green but had no pictures, also got the phoenix shown as server when changing channels.
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards

Remove the # from your lines and reboot.
    # in front de activates the line.

you card may not like to run at 6mhz so could try 3.57. Also can try removing the word 'phoenix' on your serial reader line.

    Hi Chaps,
If i do not comment out camkey, camdata and try all chid's I get a green icon but no picture when using internal slot.
So I assumed they must be commented out for phoenix as well.
still does not work on 3.5 MHz either..
    Any other ideas ?

there could also be one other issue

    is it a clone ???

how old is it if it is ???

because there was a large number of clone units that had the comport crippled by a track on the main board not being connected
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it

    Hi diavalo,
I read about that and are wondering if that is not the problem.
Box is a clone about 18 months to 2 years old.
Is there a fix for the com port ?
I am handy with a soldering iron.

the dm600 had a serial port issue - where you could flash thru serial using dreamup - but the serial port would not work a phoenix.

I wasnt aware that the dm500 had a serial port issue as well
can you contact the box thru serial port with dreamup ?

there was a batch of DM500's a couple of years ago that had the serial port disabled for phoenix use that I was aware of. Following batches had this rectifed so one would think it could be modified if it was one of these boxes.

have tried the PLi image above with no joy.
It seems my box is one of those that will not work with a phoenix.
Are going to borrow a mates DM500 that is much newer than mine and will experiment further.
    Thanks to all for advice,
    Regards

Tried on my mates box and phoenix fired up straight away..
Seems my box is one of 'those' - bugger!
As a matter of interest, when zapping with the card in internal slot I see 'decode:slot1' at the top middle of nemesis OSD.
With card in phoenix this info is not shown at all.
Is there a way to get it to show phoenix or something like that ?
Cheers to all for the advice and help.
btw do z80 or fantm not have a fix for the com port of my DM500
    regards

i remember on some early images you could turn on debug for comport then reboot and then turn off and reboot. then the comprt would work for some reason. this was way back in the peterpan/nedkelly days.

give it a go under settings you have nothing to loose.
