Hi MaxxPower
I check all firmware updates and 3.11 is the newest
I found a 3.12 but it was for the 32LG70D not 30D
so maybe wrong firmware in your set
OK Thanks, I will wait before I upgrade
Also it's a pity that LG never enabled DivX/AVI playback through the USB port on these models.
I had a look at the tool options in the Service & EZY-Menu's but there are no USB or Divx options to change.
That option would have really kept the kids occupied instead of them putting food & their grubby hands all over the DVD player.
From what i can work out they made the USB Playback option available in the next model.

Well that maybe that is why it is playing up.
It's a shame but it looks like I may still have to TRASH this TV.
I tried to downgrade to the 3.11 FW that you sent me but the TV won't recognize the usb., when I insert the usb nothing happens.
Probably because the 3.12 fw that is on it now is a higher version than the 3.11.
The LG Technicians that installed the 3.12 firmware update should have known it was not the right one. I Wish I had know what they did while it was still under warranty!
Anyway,, thanks for all of your hard work, I do appreciate what you have done..

Version V3.12.00_2009-12-01.bin is correct and the latest and final update for that model. It addressed HDMI issues and was available to all LG techs via the Tech Forum. The firmware in such a base model TV was never likely to be the cause of your fault symptom. The Morningstar semiconductor SoC MST2379A is configured for market specific applications via external firmware stored in flash, which is loaded in the boot sequence. What you have is an old fashioned hardware fault.

TVguy is correct i had a look back in tech forum and found the post see below but was never moved to the model Tech pack that we go to for updates on models,
that is why LG support gave you same as me
Hi All,
There have been a number of concerns related to HDMI connectivity with the LG series LCDTV.
Problems associated with compatibility with other manufacturers products due to DDC/ handshaking/ EDID recovery via HDMI switch etc are common amongst all manufacturers....
Issues raised are:
1. Intermittent Blanking video
2. Intermittent White flashing screen
3. NO Signal 1080P—originally working ok then use another HDMI port OK for a while then no work again...
4. HDMI ports become non –operational ( in-active) after a period of time/use-- one by one after insertion ..
5. NO Video—Audio OK
6.-NO Audio—Video OK
Factory has supplied a procedure to improve performance of HDMI port and switch device .
It involves both hardware and software changes.
Hardware change is removal and changes to resistors on main brd for All relevant models with a software upgrade included.
Please follow instructions on hardware changes in attached PPT supplied and then upgrade LCDTV using specific Bin file supplied for each Model..
※ LG30/LG50/LG70 Series
-Remove R782 totally.
-Add/Change R7053[0 ohm], R767[4.7k ohm], R1105[0 ohm] then upgrade with Bin file supplied --USB method for download.
※ LG60/LG61/LG65 Series
-Remove R782 totally
-Add/change R7021[0 ohm], R767[4.7k ohm], R1105[0 ohm] then upgrade with Bin file supplied --USB method for download.
i.e. For 0 ohm just s/c link is OK.
Upgrade firmware with model relevant file..If TV wont detect file using expert mode method . please try file unzipped on its own inside USB stick.. Dont put in folder...
. Turn TV OFF and insert USB stick and then turn ON...Do Instop after downlaod..
Please after full upgrade plaese rewrite HDMI EDID info in SVC Menu Tool option table 1 to activate ports.....see attached photo..
SERVICE HINT: If 1 or more ports are not operational please follow this re-intialising procedure to restore HDMI port operation::
1.TURN OFF SIMPLINK OPTION--In OSD Menu
2.Disconnect HDMI cable from TV .
3.Turn TV OFF from AC Outlet -leave to toally discharge --PWR LED TURN OFF
4.TURN TV ON and re-insert HDMI cable and source device...EG DVD /Bluray etc..
HDMI Port should be operational...Please then perform above recommended procedure to main brd..
If customer does not have LG Simplink compatible device then advise customer to TURN OFF Simplink as corruption of HDMI port data can happen.
I have a LG TV with an annoying intermittent blanking video. The TV model is 42LG30D-AA.AAUQLJD.
So if someone who has that model latest firmware please upload it.
Thanks
Hi guys, please forgive me for raising this thread from the dead. I'm new here and not entirely sure of the protocol. I figured it would be more appropriate to keep my question here since it's very much related.
I have an LG 42LG30D-AA.AAUQLJD and I discovered when colour calibrating it that it's on firmware version 3.07.0. I did a google for firmware updates to find none listed on the LG site, but some showing that version 3.11 is available for my model.
So with CHRISS' links dead, I contacted LG and they told me there are no firmware updates for my TV, contradicting what CHRISS posted.
Can anybody please confirm that 3.07.0 is not the latest firmware for my TV and, if not, where can I download the latest firmware?
Hi Freil, send CHRISS a PM, he might have a copy of the latest firmware still and may re-upload it for you.
BTW I checked through my LG files but don't have the latest version.
Hey mickstv, thanks for replying. I'll shoot CHRISS a PM now and see if he can help.
Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I thank you for your assistance.
I have an LG TV that has been moved to another room, but no longer hooked up to Foxtel.
In this new location, on any Channel 9 broadcasts (9, 9HD, Gem, Go), after about 10 seconds the TV restarts itself. All the other channels work OK.
The software version is probably the same since I got the TV back in 2007. The version number is 3.06.00
It looks like LG do not have any software updates for these old TVs available anymore.
Can anyone assist in providing any updates to the software for this model TV.
Thanks again for your time.
No, the LG site only has manuals to download, not software updates. It seems that they are relying on the newer Smart TVs that can update automatically.
In the past, I've called LG support, and they've emailed me the requested firmware... worth a try.
OK Thanks, I will give that a try.
Hello I know I'm kind of new around here but wonder if someone here can help me with this?
I have got a LG55LW6500 T.V. but cannot update the software , have been to LG's website downloaded the files created the folder LG_DTV on the stick extracted the files there which show up on the computer but when I put the USB stick in go to the folder it's empty
Have I done something weird again I can't connect to the internet as don't fancy paying $40 odd dollars unless no alternative tried using the LAN after moving the modem nearer it came up with the DNS settings and don't know enough to fiddle around with it .
Shame I just can't go out and get any old dongle hook it up to my network .: (
any ideas will be most welcome .
Thanks Adrian
