    Default Kickstart NDS Bluey?

    Please HELP!

I am getting married in 10 days and the mrs is moving in. She finds out fox is out I AM OUT!

I'm back to square one again with the dreaded bluey missing an update and knocking itself out. NewCS showing :

    ECM -> UserX <NOT OK>

I have had this before and found a flawless setup in:

    NewCS 1.5 on XP SP3
One box AU on and EMM on rest off
    CCAM 2.04 during the day
Switch timer to flick to a channel which is configured to use EVOCAMD 2.17b at 6am (I wanted all other channels on CCAM 2.04 no pixelation)

This worked no problems for close to a year until I moved out nearly three months ago and took my AU box with me so that it was no longer on the local LAN. I thought it would update remotely no problems. Not the case.

So I have since promoted another box which is still on the NEWCS local lan to take over the updating role. However I cant get the card to WAKE or become "not dead".

Is there a way to immediately kick start a bluey i.e. hit it with a valid key?

I have read and mucked around with the "leaked" thread files but I am under the impression that they are designed for gammas.

    Thanks again.

Put card in it's original fox decoder
    Phone fox.
Tell them you've been away for a couple of weeks
Tell them you've just got home, switch everything on & your paid fox subscription is not working.
They'll give the card a tickle for you

it might not even require a phonecall, quite often leaving the card in the provider box overnight will suffice.

I have a sneaky suspicion he may no longer have access to the original provider box.
Dunno why I say that, just a gut feeling, but surely most subscribers would already be privy to this information / fix?

With all my Sat boxes (Octagon, Dreambox, Strong, Dreammax) I can access the card and check subscriptions. With my bluey, I can see the 12 or so packages I have subscibed to (Platinum)
You'll see things like 03bb, 03cd, 02ea etc. These are the packages that you have. There will be an 'expired' date next to each of these. That's when you'll start losing channels. Not all dates are the same. You'll actually see 2 dates that may be expiring in say 2016. Well they're the basic channel package.
Now all ya have to do, is see when the earliest one expires. Ignore the year. I think mine at the moment say 2007, but the date is correct. My next one expires Jan 22nd. So tonight, I throw the ole bluey in my original set-top and leave it overnight. Last time (3 months ago) I did that in the morning, left it on a channel that had expired, told the blonde mrs when you see pics you can pull card and put back in my Occy or Dreambox. It took 2 hours.
    Cheers, Saintaholic

Thanks Seymour but I do have the original STU. Its my parents subscription.

I have posted about this issue a few times, so I am completely aware of the fixes. But I wanted to know if there was an "immediate manual" fix where I could inject or wake the card up.

Once I had my setup in place with EVOCAMD 2.17b switching at 6am I never had to pop the bluey back in the original. I am talking about approx 1 year stretch where the card never died.

That one AU box I took with me 3 months ago when I became a man and moved out of mummy and daddys house. For some reason the channel swtich reverted back to the default cam which was CCAM 2.04 and hence the card died.

Yesterday I set my mums dreambox to take over the updating role which is still on the local lan. Within an hour the movie package was back purely through EVOCAMD 2.17b. Overnight nothing else came back however.

I have the bluey in the orginal stu now. Question though, does the original STU have better smarts when updating compared to EVOCAMD? I could simply ring Fox*el and get them to send a spark but where is the fun in that?

Saintaholic, how do you see the package codes and dates? Is it through the DM gui? I am using Pli Iolite.

    Thanks guys.

    Have you tried CCCam 2.0.5

I have heard that CCCam 2.0.5 version, & onward keeps the card updated

(But get a hit in the original STB first)

the sub stb may only hit the card after a phone call - in any event the phone call is the instant hit you are looking for.

from then CCcam 2.0.5 or later will keep card updated and even get FBO (except that pesky 1st 10 minutes where the plots and subplots are set-up)
note cccam as server and client - no need for newcs or evo etc
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

I was always advised to run the latest CCcam and the latest PLI image in my update box.
In my case I'm running CCcam version 2.13
Ohh and BTW Plantagenet, sorry mate - it wasn't meant as a derogatory comment/post, but I know a mate of mine has one of my blues at his house but not the decoder, and like most he keeps a separate DM500s reading the blue and it's on the same channel 24/7 so has never suffered the same fate as you.

one thing I have found with the Sky NZ card is that if something has changed (ie new channels or renumbering) the card will eventually drop off, which then forces you to put it back in the provider box. Upon booting the provider box up, it proceeds to do an OTA update.

Suspect i'll have to do this in a few weeks when all the Olympics channels are finally livened.

hey this was an intersting thread to read , couple of things , i had my blue card out unplug on a top a shelf for a period of time. When I pluged it back in it updated in about 5 hours or less ( I wasnt watching it ) its a full platium package but as for these dates you say saint , this is from the card info on a DM? because my expiry dates are 2004? I'll have another look but Im pretty sure they didnt say 2016 or anything close to todays dates.

I was hoping to get EVO to update the card for me and bring back all the channels without the need for the original STU. As I mentioned the movie packs came back but nothing else.

I gave it maybe 15 hours chance, popped it in the orginal and all pics and channels back within 2 hours.

I am still confident that the card can be kept alive with this setup as have numerous others with other setups. I kinda just stuck with what worked for me. In this case because I moved houses the box stopped updating the card remotely for some reason.

Can someone inform me how to check those package codes and dates?

heheheh its very important. When she gets what she wants so do I.

    *HIGH FIVE*

Well all working now. As I said left the card in the original for 2 hours and all back. No need to call FTel.

I will monitor and post if it dies again with current setup.

    Now I can get married
