The VU+ DUO looks pretty good from what I have read, the only downside is you can only have 2 tuners compared to 4 in the DM8000 also the tuners are soldered in (you cannot put a DVB-C or DVB-T tuner in them), but for half the price they look good.

I would like 2 x DVB-S plus 2 DVB-T tuners, the ability to record while watching other channels for those times when programme start/finish times overlap, only down side is all your eggs in the 1 basket but WOW what a basket that’s one I would like to picnic with.

Actually that's an interesting point you bring up nfnovice.
What made the PLi team decide to back this new VU Duo box and not the DGStation boxes? Did they have a hand in developing this box from scratch?

not exactly sure weirdo - the pli guys are centred in netherlands and some of the core team sell these these boxes in the netherlands - german site also seems to sell them
they are a enigma 2 box with closed source bootloader, closed source hardware drivers. Everything else is open source - similar in principle to the dreambox model

so if pli compiles and runs on them and they are a good box and price - and they are opensource committed - it probably makes sense

AFAIK PLi have only ever officially supported DM until now. The PLi Jade image I'm running on my DGS 200Ss is an unofficial version.

Yep, that's exactly why I asked.
I'm running an adapted version of PLi Jade on a Mutant and a Relook400.

My 400s is on the latest Turbokongen cause I use both tuners - SWMBO often has 2 favourites on at the same time so I have to record one while she watches the other. There was a bloke on denktenk saying he had Jade 3 ready to go for the 200, but he hasn't been back on for months.

I have a DM 600 acting as a server with a bluey, and have just changed to oscam to get the missing 10 minutes of fbo programs (can now see the previews, so I assume it's working). I'm not sure yet if EMMs are getting through, as I haven't ordered any fbo since the change.

Yeah I've seen him there many times.

The person who is doing Jade 3 for the 200s is drhg. He posted in August that it was finished & under test, but no-one's seen him since. I from the PLi site that he is from Saudi Arabia, but he hasn't logged on there since early October. The original image was by thezet, but he has decommissioned his relook.
