Hi All,
I have been a member of this site for around 6 years but hadn't logged in in ages so it seems as though my account went AWOL!
Anyway, I currently have Foxtel with IQ2 and can record 3 channels and watch 1 - My understanding is that this box/decoder has 4 tuners?
I'm currently pretty annoyed with the lack of space this magonkulator has for storing TV shows / movies... With 4 kids in the house and 4 adults that frequent the lounge room, the free space hovers around 10%.
From what I've read, the DM8000 would be better (as I have the HD stuff too), but with a price tag of around $2k, I think the DM800 would be more suited.
My questions are:
1) Would the DM800 be suited to running with a foxtel card (paid subscription)
2) How much do they cost? (It seems to be around $360-$400?)
3) How hard are they to program with moderate PC experience?
I guess there will be further questions too, however, I can only take baby steps whilst I research this new idea.
Cheers

the 8000 has multiple tuners would give you IQ2 like functions in terms of multiple recording etc
the 800 would not give as many options and might feel a downward step from IQ2
both would give you the ability to add a sh*t load of hard drive (or network mount to PC)
