    Default LG Optical Engines

Does anyone know where to obtain parts to refurbish these things? I know you can get the tunnel from LG but they dont have the polarising filters. I know of a couple of places that are refurbishing engines but they aren't telling anybody where they get the bits. S'pose I wouldn't either. Seems even LG get refurbished engines for stock, according to tech support. Any help would benefit many of the techs on this site I'm sure.....

It's a revolutionary new engine that runs on light. The optical discriminator collects light from the large flat panels on the roof of the car and distributes it synergistically via spread spectrum directors through a tunnel into the pulse ports of the LG engine. Photokinesis then converts the light via polarising filters into bio-dynamic erg modules that cause a phototropic radiator to emit protons in a highly charged vacuum. The resultant energy transfer drives a bio-hydrogen cell which releases the transferred energy into a magnetic field which then causes the rotation of a dynamically balanced spectro-shaft that is connected to the wheels of the car. This process takes place at the speed of light therefore spinning the shaft at extremely high speed. The car therefore accelerates at warp 9 and transports you into the next galaxy in a fraction of a second.

It's LG's latest innovation. They're always coming out with cool stuff.

Could not have said it better myself. LG really have the market cornered in warp drive engines - did you know they are in consultation with NASA to put man on the moon!!!!
The only problem with the current version of the light engine is that when the vehicle gets to the dark side of the moon it stops working - no light to collectors - no power to warp drive. LG are working on a battery backup to compensate for this using 2 AAA batteries and a 455Mhz crystal. If you push the button on the control hard enough it might make the unit work!
You want to do what exactly with that screwdriver?

That was discontinued on the Mark II version. LG found that by re-integrating the spread spectrum directors diametrically rather than unilaterally it reduced the spectral imbalance to a point where 1.21 Gigawatts were no longer necessary to impart the required number of protons.

LG is actually an acronym for Light Generation. By a cruel twist of fate, and to the huge embarrassment of the LG technical boffins, their Light Generator actually works better as an Engine.

LG management, acting in accordance with the protocols set by the International Acronym Board, are about to change the Company name to FI to reflect the quality of the boffins technical skills.

Although no media release is available to explain this new acronym, it is assumed the letters FI stand for Fargin Idjitz, understood to be the Head of the Engineering Design team.

It was pretty good rubbish though. Anyway its not for any particular model, just wondering how one would go about obtaining the parts to repair the things. Googling doesnt seem to help. Seems like its top secret.......

give you hint wallaroo, make 2 good ones out of 3 bad ones, there's enough bad ones out there..

to avtech, bulbous, and studio1 you just gave a couple of nutcase techs stitches, it's funny how this trade sends you round the twist!!!

if its a MW60sz12 can anyone let me know where to get the polarisers, cause mine are on the way out and i am getting discolouration in my screen.

    Cheers

I seriously was wondering the same thing, and since it does not have anything to do with 88 miles an hour I'm still curious as to what 'Optical Engine' means. A look at the meaning of the word engine would indicate that the usage of the word here would NOT be a mechanical means of transferring energy, but possibly meaning 2(b) An agent, instrument, or means of accomplishment.

So could anyone shed some *cough* light on what it actually is?

EDIT: I don't mean to interrupt but just curious

the engine is similar to a projector, that is aimed to the mirror in the back of a rear projection tv, the picture is digitally decoded and the engine produces the picture through a bulb for the light which then shines through polarisers or a motorised colour wheel and then reflected into the lens and shown up onto the screen, some of the engines do have mechinical parts, such at the colour wheel, fans, but moreso transfering optical energy.

i hope that sort of makes it a bit clearer, but the best way of undersdatnding it is by havine one in front of you opened up.

the link below is a diagram of one.

    cheers brad

I see, it's similar to a projector. The DMD mirror device was invented by Texas Instruments IIRC is that right?

yeah postscriptum, texas instruments are responsible, best method IMO is the 3 dmd device then you can do away with the colour wheel
