Use mortscript - it is good documented and you will finds a lot of websites with examples on how to use it ,even for programming your own little applications.

Changing the registry permanently is most likely not possible and your device will discard all changes at the next reset or if the battery runs flat.

Maybe you can check MIOPOCKET ? It unlocks a Win system and add a nice menu - there are different skins available I think.

With most of the newer Chinese devices any registry changes persist after a hard reset or flat battery. This is why they are so easy to brick. Earlier devices that restore the registry after a hard reset are much safer to fiddle with.

what size memory card you got in your device ?
    some devices dont accept 2gb

my old one only takes 1gb

if for example you have a 2gb and your devices does not accept it... it will show only some files and not the new ones you just copied (miopocket)

when you say memory card do you mean the SD card as its 2GB where all my sat nav stuff is on the card not on the device. it don’t show any of the miopocket stuff when I go on navigation when its switched on

You will find instruction on the Miopocket website .
If you read and follow them it will work .
The easiest however would be to make a shortcut to the Windows desktop for your Programs

    memory card = sd card

if u have a old device u will find that maybe some of your gps apps wont work properly or at all, the reason for this is that miopockets takes a fair chunk of ram to run

as DU said, there are plenty of sites to find instuctions for miopocket
