Default MCSA on C-band to be decomissioned

A cut and paste from Vetrun

Hi, Our new satellite (W7) does not cover the southern part of Madagascar. It can only be recieved from 50km south of Antana and towards the north. If I say not covered I am refering to recieving it on a 1.8 m (or smaller) dish. The tests I have done in the south showed that a 1.8m barely picked up anything. If you are realy desperate I suggest experimenting with a 3.7m and you most likely will pick it up. Unfortunately I am only on the engineering side, so I do not know if you will be re-imbursed for this.

C-Band is not an option as it will be decommisioned by the 31st of May 2010.

it was expected... all SE Asia , India and western Australia gets this package for free trough the CS servers ... i dont think MCSA is to happy about that and they will cut off the Cband service...

Supersport has the best sports coverage in the world, shame I couldn't get MCSA here in NZ. As it turns out, it doesn't really matter any more.

I doubt it has anything to do with CS activities.

I dunno, there were sly installs at a lot of hotels i've stayed in SE Asia. Not sure if they were CSing but they weren't legit. It's a service where piracy is rampant.

I think if that was the reason they would have deployed some countermeasures before closing up shop.

The Cable TV providers in India stelling the service is the main problem especially the Cricket.

The first hint of this occured when the last IPL was played and MCSA put up a banner on SS saying that due to the servie being stolen by Indian Pay TV providers that it was to shift to Eutalsat KU for the peroid of the championship.

Their client base is a lot larger then Foxtel and any countermeasures that were introduced would have disasterous effects if they were not implemented correctly.
Roll outs of version 5+ cards is a start.
