Default Just Brought A New Plasma :)

Guys i just brought a plasma but don't know if it's a good one.

    It's a Samsung 50 Inch Model: PS50C91HDX.
It's the 1080i version not the P but for the price i think you can't go wrong.

It's brand new with warranty and I got it for $1k on the internet.
The guy's shipping it out today.

Does anyone else have one of these?

Seems a great price. Price searches show:

"Price range: $2,450.00 to $2,649.00 at 10 stores"

    So $1000 seem the goods.

its not a online store, its from a private seller who had the tv for a month but never used it. The payment was only via paypal so thats better for me then paying by direct deposit...

I have their colour laser printer CLP-300 and I agree with mango that there is an absolute lack of service and I refuse to buy another Samsung product.

A couple of small points when buying with e-bay, and your spending real money, as apposed to spending a few dollars on a CD, etc.

Firstly check the auction time, If it's only down for a couple of days or less , beware.
Check the sellers feedback, no or very little feedback, beware.
Check the sellers sales number, that's the number of sales behind his name, this can indicate sales or buy's if it's zero beware.
With a large item, normally marked collection only, ask if you can view before you bid. If they say NO or you don't get a reply beware.
check the sellers other items for sale.

If it's an e-bay shop, then there normally very good, but still do all the checks as above.
Pay-pal don't want to know as there call centre is in Moonbi. Good luck on that score.
Also check where the vender is, if there in Hong Kong check the postal rates FIRST.
Some time ago submitted a bid on a valve amp, the price was 99 cents, the postage was $430.00. I won the bid, and sent the bloke 99cents, and told him to supply me with the serial number of the amp and I would have it collected. All hell broke out. I got threatened, intimidated and my nuts where removed. In the end I said he could have my 99 cents. But it also turned out the guy had no product, and only bought one, when he sold one on e-bay, and that was his problem, he had bought an amp, and I refused to pay the high postal charges
Both e-bay and pay-pal did not want to know about it, and now they also show the postal charges on the header page.

I hope your sale goes OK.

great story mate, i brought the item from a guy in qld, he told me i can pay via paypal so i dont feel as if im going to get ripped, which is good because my CC has insurance up to 12k. So if he didn't send the plasma then i will get my $ back.

But he's quite genuine as we spoke on the phone last night and spoke to him again today (he called me) letting me know he's arranging Star Track Express or Fed Ex to come pick up the item and have it shipped down to Melbourne. (Hope the shipping company doesnt lose the box)

So now i'm just waiting for it to arrive in one piece hehe

They will get cheaper and cheaper now due to Matsushita's ( Panasonic ) decision last week to invest in LCD and ditch Plasma.

Thats a pretty good price, I just picked up the P9 (same as yours but FullHD) for $2800 pricematch at Myers and that was well under "cost".
It's a great TV, very sharp pictures, blacks are black and colours are clear and vibrant.
Did you check if the tv had any burn-in or what the life timer was upto?
