Many versions = many TT models
Different sizes = different memory size for intern memory only models
I'm hoping that some of you can help clarify the way map versions work because I'm finding it somewhat confusing.
Are the 2Gb map versions official TomTom maps or have they been modified to fit 2Gb cards? Is there a compromise on quality / detail in the 2Gb versions? Why do the filesize of maps go up and down so much between versions. I'd expect the filesizes to be growing not getting smaller.
Likewise I noticed there are Western Europe and Western Europe & Central Europe and Europe maps. Some of the Western Europe maps are larger than the later two etc. Is there compromise on quality? The map I mainly use is UK & Republic of Ireland - since this region is contained in the European maps - do I lose anything by using those instead?
Why are there so many map versions with very close release dates?
Many thanks for your help - it is greatly appreciated!
