    Default Speed Cams?

Sorry guys, I know this must have been discussed previosly but I can't find it.
I just updated to the latest map and thought that I would install the speed cams also. Where do I install the speed cams on the TomTom in the map folder? Do I have to activate the speed cams?

Ok, so I copy the speed cams to my Australia folder from that thread you pointed me too. So, from that they should work straight away without having to be activated?

    That is not correct !

The Tomtom speed cams need to be activated with a keygen first.
After that you find them in "Tomtom services ,Safety cams" and in there further settings.
If you need a spoken warning you have to put a corresponding .ogg file with a recorded warning into the folder "sounds".

Only third party cams appear in the POI settings under "Preferences...."

Downunder - mate, please point me to step by step instructions on how to activate the speed cams because this is getting confusing.

Am I suppose to activate the speed cams before placing in TomTom Services folder? Does this happen automactically? And what Keygen am I to use to activate the Speed Cams with (is it the same one that I used to activate the maps with i.e. Easyactivator 5 v5.07.21?).

I apologise for being a pain in the arse but I can't find the instructions on how to activate this anywhere and the post that you linked me to earlier was not very clear.

I had no idea that such a simple task could be so hard...
The two files for the speed cams go into the map folder.
After that they are activated with Keygen4.1 - "make map Keys".
Now you can go into the Tomtom Services menu and change the settings for the speed cams.

If you don't want to activate your Speed Cams each time, you can subscribe to and download the .OV2 and .BMP files, then load them directly into the maps folder in your TT.

They're surprisingly accurate for Australia, although may not be as good as TT's database.

The speed cams need only one activation ,after that you just copy the new files into the map folder.
PGPSW cams are not complete in the free version that I tested some time ago.
And there are issues reported by users if you don't upload some cams every now and then : the cancel your membership for no reason - but I hope they changed that ...

Me again - Pain in the ass...
I'm using Tomtom Keygen 2010 4.1D as suggested. I have copied the Safety_Cam files into my Australia folder and tried to activate them using the Keygen (Make Map Keys then Make DCTs) but it keeps telling me that I have corrupt Meta and calling out "Attention"
What am I doing wrong this time?

Corrupt meta is in regards to the truck map and is ok.
Your dct files should be generated and all working - have you checked it?

I'm not trying to be a pain, but just maybe some small updates to the first post in the sticky "Newbie guide to update your Tomtom " might help a few of the newer members.

Just a sugestion have a nice day

Must admit I didn't check as I just took it for granted that I did something wrong again. Will check later on th is afternoon - I suppose that the only way of checking is driving around?

Well , I'm just a user here and not enough rights to change old postings.
As much as I hate it but there is not much I can do - the user has to search the thread a bit ....

    Thanks again

Looks like i have a lot to learn.

Someone must be able (have the rights) too edit pages.

Maybe they can help us here. "Please"

While i agree that you can search the many pages, if you are new (as I'm still) you do not know what you are looking for. When i started the couple of stickies up front helped me along, or i would have still been at the (!@##$) stage.

So my question to (someone out there) can you please help.

    Thanks in anticipation

wayne, there are many threads here that are fantastic, but users like me and DU don't have access to make them better ... if we did, then we would be in a perfect world wouldn't we ? ..... but life goes on

Anyway, back to the speed cam subject
