    Default 5.8Ghz Video Senders

Does anyone know if the 5.8Ghz Video Senders sold by many places, eg Jaycar, interfere with cordless phones (or vice versa).

More specifically the Unidens which is what I have.

    Thanks

If the frequencies in use overlap then there is a good chance that there will be some sort of interference. This may vary from full signal blockage to decreased range or intermittent performance. Try to find out which specific frequencies are in use by both devices and see if they coincide.
    Common sense isn't !!!

AV Senders will always have interference problems with any wireless or cordless units.I have a 5.5 mgh AV Sender which I paid about $A180 but it interferes with my cordless/mobile phones.
Just keep 2 cordless n wireless very far apart.
thanks for reading this mail, n wish u all the best of health n wealth 4 u n yr familiy

I have a 5.8 Ghz AV sender and 2.4 Ghz panasonic cordless phones, both work together with no problems...
I originaly bought a 2.4 Ghz Av sender from Dickies, but couldn't use them at all, even on a different channel (The sender units have 4 channels usualy) there was "splatter" being recieved (pulses, crackling and lines on screen).
I would assume the same would occur if you where using a AV on 5.8 and cordless on 5.8...

Obviously the receivers are not very selective, and the transmitters not very clean, I mean 2.4Ghz to 5.8Ghz you think there would be no issues with that kind of frequency separation !!!

The senders rarely interfere with anything else, and usually suffer from the interference of other devices.
This is due in part to their low power output, and the fact that they use a fixed frequency. Most cordless phones in the 2.4 and 5.8 range are spread spectrum, which means that the problem can't be solved by changing the channel, or improving the selectivity of the av receiver as someone else said.

I have a couple of AV transmitters which had no interference until I bought a Uniden WDECT broadband handset model 3315 I think . Now I get a regular pulse accross my receiving TV at about 1 per sec ,doesn't bother me too much though but is noticeable as a noise and black line accross screen

The uniden wdect phones are the worst for this. The `W' stands for wideband, and it's spread sprectrum ("frequency hopping" if you like). High output power as well, so it's also your neighbour's problem.
    OTOH, the phones work flawlessly.
