The VS sedans were IRS.
Wagons were 5 link live axle.
Any one know if a VS Diff is the same in wagons and sedans axle to axle .
Look Here -> |

FYI
Found out at the wreckers the shockers are mounted differently so cant mix sedan & wagon.
You can use a ABS Diff as a standard Diff which we did.
But you cant use a standard diff in an abs diff car, unless you change the disks and sensors over.
Are you saying that you found a vs sedan with a solid axle?
Are you sure it was a vs?
Maybe a vr executive
Or is it a possibility that holden made the vs executive series 1 a solid axle?
Just curious as ive never seen a vs sedan with a solid axle.
I know vr executive sedans are solid, the higher option model were all irs.
S**t you had me worried for a while there, i thought i maybe losing it. LOL
Yep wagons are all solid.
Is it an executive?
Did a web search late last night and found that only executives had solid, all other were irs.
Strange to make the base solid and all others irs.
Youd think theyd all be one or the other.
I know my old one was irs.
This is what i looked at last night
Station wagons were all solid regardless
VS was standard with the solid rear axle, IRS was an option on VR, VS, VT and standard on all models after that I believe.
I own 2 VR Berlinas, one with IRS but no ABS and one without IRS but with ABS (Neither have Airbags).
Great cars!
(Whats even better is that both of then get better fuel economy than my new Mitsubishi 380VRX!)
In fact, both VR's added together use less fuel than the Mitsubishi!
(They each use 6.5 - 7.0 Lt per 100KM and the Mitsu uses 14 on a trip!!)
Whats with the crap fuel economy of more modern cars nowadays?????????????
