Default El Cheapo Blu Ray player

A Good Guys catalog has a Blu Ray player for $147 (Less for Cash) made by GVA.
    claims the following :
Plays Blu Ray, DVD & CD
    1080p Full HD output
    USB Input
Up to 7.1CH Surround Sound via HDMI Output
    BD-Live Compatible (whatever that is)

I havent seen this brand name before but then so what with todays manufacturers.
Along with everything else, I am curious if it will allow out of Region DVD's to be played via a code etc.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

    Gordon,
You could always ask the store as well, when I bought my Mum an el cheapo DVD player from the Good Guys at Prospect last year, they handed me a photocopy of the Remote key sequence to unlock it. I didn't even ask..
    Now that's service
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

I have the WD TV HD media player. Works great with photos and videos. It plays full-HD 1080p movies, digital music and family photos on HD TV. It's from Western Digital.

Okay, I hope this will help. The My Passport AV portable media driver of WD has a 320gb, USB interface. It is optimized for video storage and playback. I is noted to be compatible with compatible game consoles, camcorders, Blu-ray Disc players and other media players such as the Western Digital TV family.

I have one of the Soniq QPB302B players $99 from JB and no complaints at all. It plays most formats including DIVX and is multi-region or at least the region is easily changed for DVD and BD discs - simply press 'setup' on the remote followed by 8520 and a setup screen is presented allowing region selection. The only thing it lacks that I would have liked on it is an optical output for digital audio feed to home theatre amp.
