Default Jensen QX-85 Subwoofer Power Feedback

Ive recently been getting a loud feedback thud on my home theatre subwoofer when turning the amp off. The unit has an auto power on and off (no button) just voltage switch. Turning the amp off at the wall before turning off the amp solves the problem, does this mean the auto power switch is causing the issue as the sub has been great and had no issues. Ive googled as much as I can and can only find flyers for the discontinued model at bdimports but nothing else?????

    Any suggestions?

Ok, so if I read correctly, when you turn the main amplifier off, your powered sub gives a thud?
How is the audio connected to the sub? Is is pre-amp level or are you using high-level input to it?

Sorry, I wasnt really clear enough after reading it again....

Yep, If I turn the main amp (Yamaha) off first, then i get a rather loud thud on the subwoofer (Jensen)...there is no difference in the volume of the thud respective of the volume on the amp (either) at the time, low or high volume=loud thud.

If I turn the sub (Jensen) off first at the wall, there is no thud.

I think its pre-amp?? Im using the RCA cable for connection.

I find it weird that it only does it powering down and not on the power up?

What is the model number of the Yamaha amp? Has it always done it or has it just started doing it? Did it start doing it after you shifted rooms or did some cable changes on the amp?

    RX-V795

Its just started doing it, I only updated to the Jensen about 1yr ago. The feed back isnt going through the main speakers, only the sub.

Theres been no changes made, no room movements, no lead changes etc.

Its got me puzzled, i might have to nab a mates sub and see if it does it to that?? I still think it maybe the auto on/off in the sub.

Hey sorry to revive an old thread,

but wondered if you found out why this was happening?

I have the same sub with the exact same issue.

    I have a Yamaha RX-V479.

I have just been leaving power to the sub on all the time to avoid the thud sound.
