    Yes

In windows explorer go to the toolbar & click TOOLS -> MAP NETWORK DRIVE

In the mapping dialog box, look to the bottom & you will see "sign up for online storage or connect to a network server"
    Click that bottom link
for the address, use ftp://root@192.168.0.220/media/hdd/ (and of course change the box IP to match yours)

    Default dreambox hdd to windows

    Hi Moof,

Ive found the simplest way to connect the dreambox hdd to your network is to install the samba client on your dream, then you can simply connect to its hdd as a standard network drive. That way its just mapped as another drive for you to record and the transfer to pc to remove commercials etc and record streams to pc.

    Hope this helps

But if your DM box has a hdd (600,800hd,7000,7020,7025) it is using samba for its sharing already on your MS LAN under the Dreambox workgroup, so sorry you lost me here?

In XP Windows Explorer is your desk top, file manager is what you meant right? On Vista file manager - Map Network drive option and fill in as a Fernbay suggests.

Erm, but perhaps I am missing something also, Samba server is already installed in the PLi image, so you should be able to map to \\dreamboxip\harddisk which will point to the /hdd.

The samba share doesn't ask for username/password and mounts you in as root.

If you want to make changes edit /etc/samba/smb.conf and add in more shares as you need.

Or are we talking about something else?
