Can't help you out angao and i am sorry to highjack your thread, but i own one of these projectors and have a problem as well, i can turn my unit on and for a few seconds i get the power light flashing orange then green and see a picture for a few seconds then it shuts down and i can't turn unit back on at all, i get no lights whatsoever.
In order to get it to power up again i need to turn the power switch off on the back of unit and wait awhile before turning back on.
Hi Oscar
is this little chip on the main board ? how much cost the main board and where did you get it from ? thanks mate
angao@alphalink.com.au
Its been a long while .I would have got the board thru prime.
Mine was S/C blowing a fuse elsewhere .It was a bitch to work on.
This was like a standby supply that runs all the time.
That other prob think lamp!!
guys, guys, guys..
firstly angao, which fuse is ok? have you checked the temp fuse (its on the side of the light tunnel under a black cover held by 1 screw)
second justolder, your prob will be the auto iris unit. To check, when the units going select- menu > options or "other options" > with osd selected hold down ok button for more than 5 secs, you will then get service menu select "self check" have a look at that screen and i'll bet the "auto iris" will be displayed in red, pm me for the part number and price.
these things are great to work on, most probs are dust related, there in lies the hint, if your not using it wrap in plastic or cover with plastic. lcd's and dust and a bloody hot lamp and you've got REAL probs
thanks Justolder, Oscar and IWACelect
both main fuse and temperature fuse are OK, just wondering the "8 pin IC" Oscar refered to is on main power supply board or not ? thanks
thats on the main power pcb, (if it's the one i think oscars talking about) i would give you the schematic, but even as an asc we cant get that one, they sell them along with the ballast as a single unit
any misgivings about this projector can be seen at dvtv forum
a quick google showed me they have a few issues. Good Luck
