I think fandtm66 is the man to ask about that stuff.
Personally I wouldn't do it that way, the mediagate has assymetrical network performance from what I have heard, when used as a NAS.
Ok, this is kinda of strange. My DM7020 Clone is on my network with SAMBA running as selected in web interface. Image i am using is Gemini provided by z80.
So far, so good.
Also on my network is an Office PC (Win XP), a laptop (Win XP), an ITGate Sat receiver (original image) and a Mediagate MG350HD.
Using the LAN search on the Mediagate, normaly you can find every other device on the network, then enter it to browes the "share" allowed folders or drives.
For some reason i can not find the DM7020 on the network using the Mediagate? It finds my DM7000 (running PLi), but no luck with the DM7020 Clone (running Gemini)
The DM7020 Clone has SAMBA enabled, is there another FTP addon i need?
Many Thanks

Thanks z80. Not quite what you mean by assymetrical network performance.
But it can be used a NAS device by the PC that has the client NAS software on it and also search the network itself for available "shared" folders and drives.
Not sure what that means. But i do know it finds the ITgate but not the DM7020 Clone with Gemini running?
The mediagate has one speed to read and another for write in its network performance and they are very dissimilar in bps.
Thanks z80. Yeah a little over my head. But dually noted
I’m hoping my problem is a little more simple than that. It can find the DM7000 with Pli and the ITgate, just not this new DM7020 Clone with Gemini. I’m really hoping it’s just a setting I’ve missed
WooHoo, got it working, for some reason in Gemini, you need to download the Samba v3.0 addon.
All works perfect now, Mediagate finds it no worries
great...will note that one in the head for future reference.
good work.
On a seperate note, that DreamDVD 0.82a plug-in is fantastic, you can NOW store DVD's on the Dreambox HDD in .ISO format and not all those messy .VOB and .VTS files.
Very very handy
I'm yet to try the massive 47.7Meg BurnDVD 7020 Plug-in. But it sounds good
Once again, this where your "Back Up to .NFI How To" comes into it's own z80. Once you get the image just how you like it and working with all your extra functions, just back it up
yeah ..been meaning to try that.
but mine come ripped in alcohol format nowadays.
it's in the Blue button Menu
Das right
