daylight savings is supposed to end today, but it has been pushed back a week, and i would imagine some clocks are going ahead as normal with their daylight savings change.
Got up this morning, and the dream had turned the time back one hour, have looked at everything, but it's getting the time from the transponder which is one hour behind.
Have talked to someone else and their *oxtel box is showing the real time.
Have played with changing the time etc, now my EPG is screwed up, anyone got an idea what's going on?

strange though, the box is getting the time from the transponder, and I know provider boxes are showing the correct time.
I changed the time to correct it, but now my EPG is screwed up, and now if I set it to go off the transponder it still uses the corrected time.
Any way of resetting the time?
... there have been some major time screw-ups due to the daylight saving time change. All the 'programmed' systems like PC expected the change over to have happened in the early hours of Sun morning .... however due to the agreements with other states - there is an extention of Daylight saving time ...
This has screwed the auto systems i.e. transponder time ... where there are humans involved ... this has been corrected (manual intervention I presume) ... i.e. Ftel boxes ... hence reason for your observation
Best solution is to manualy override the time to what it should be in your state / city at THIS moment.
surely it happened to all dreamboxes, I've tried everything i know of and nothing works.
I even just plugged my provider box back in and it's showing the real time.
got me stuffed why it's picking up the wrong time from the transponder.
ah, just read your post above, this does suck though.
Get this though, if you change your time zone to any other in the list, the time is spot on (for that time zone).
It's only affected the GMT +10 time zone, find that very strange.
...not really ... bacause all of the other timezones are behaving as normal (automaitc update) .. its the +10 timezone which had the 'human' overide - so its the only one out of synch ... at least for another week
I thought that the Transponder time was always UTC time (that's what I have seen).
I assume you guys are talking about the time off C1??? or Perhaps D1/D2?? I have updated timezone files on the PLi Image that I can post here, basically all you should need to do is replace the /var/etc/localtime file with the correct timezone you are in, and you should be fine.
Have you tried doing "dvbsnoop -n 1 0x14" on the command line to see what actual time is coming off the transponder? I suspect it's UTC time so it's a problem in the DM image.
If anyone wants these files I will post zdump (which shows the timezone info and the update zoneinfo files.
But I do know the current PLi Image (and Gemini as well I suspect) doesn't have the correct zoneinfo files for NZ and Aus (plus NA and other parts of the world).
your right bartender
I had to find zic on another *nix system and write my own timezone files
then transfer them to the dreambox
so long ago - I have overwritten that personal memory - but it wasnt easy
WA was the only state that changed back on time , I was watching Sky News yesterday and one news presenter was late because all clocks are showing different times.
My Dreambox is also wrong , everything else including my PC is correct.
On a linux box you would need to type the following to download and compile the zoneinfo files:
wget ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/tzdata*.tar.gz
tar -xzvf tzdata*
mkdir data
cd data
zic -d . ../australasia
Then copy the file you need under the "Australia" directory to the /var/etc/localtime file on your DM, ie Australia/Perth or Australia/Sydney or whatever (for NZ it's Pacific/Auckland)
Then reboot your DM, and you are done. I would attach the script I created to the post, but you can't make attachments anymore.
Just posted it on PLi:
I'm quite a newbie to this, I've downloaded the files from the PLI website, that bartender posted, not 100% sure what to do with them.
in the "zoneinfo.tgz" if you are running windows you can use Winrar () to extract all the files out, then the particular city / time zone you live in (ie Perth, Sydney etc) there are files in that archive for those time zones, then rename that file (ie Sydney) to "localtime" then ftp it up to the DM into the directory /var/etc. Reboot (telnet to your box and type reboot, don't pull the plug!) your box, and the problem should be fixed.
I wouldn't bother worrying about it.
It's only going to be out for a week. It'll fix it's self on the weekend.
Whats the worst that can happen? You might miss a repeat or a shitload of commercials & station self promo's ?
Reality is an invention of my imagination.

On my 7020 , I went to setup , system settings , time settings , time correction and changed the hour digit.
Wasnt very hard at all
The localtime update however will fix the problem and won't be an issue again (unless Aus decide to change their DST start and stop again). The updated zoneinfo files will be in the next PLi release, can't say if it will be in there for Gemini or not. I know the zoneinfo files downloaded from dreamboxupdate are still out of date.
does it take time for the change to happen? did exactly what you said bartender and it's still the same.
when I ftp the file across, do I have to change the attributes or anything to get it to work?
I used dreambox control centre to ftp the file.
