    Default installing a tv antenna

    Hi people

Rang a few places today asking for some quotes on supply and install a tv antenna on a house for my grandparents prices range from $350 - $450... abit much for the olds...

I was thinking of doing it for them as I have installed a few dishes and know how to install and set those up so how hard is it to install a outdoor antenna on to the side of the house??

Is the wiring etc easy to do like wire up the cable to the antenna and will the usual f type connectors be good enough for the wall plug? I know I will need adapters to hook up the TV to it...

never done this before with antenna's any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Lazer

If you can do a dish you can do an antenna.
Just buy a good quality antenna and make sure no water can travel along the cable into the house and youll be fine.

Have a feild strength meter and Live in coffs if thats anwhere near your olds.. $350 to $400 is steep, unless there are mastheads etc then maybe so...

As said above though if you can install a dish you can install a antenna, easy

make sure all your fixtures are rigid and tight, If you don't have a meter spin the antenna slowly and use the neighbours antenna as a guide to which way your pointing.

    P.S
Mr Antenna will install in Melbourne a basic kit and tune everything in for $150 -$175. That is a starting point for pricing.

I just relocated my Antenna today. (Birds were Pooping over the Front Porch)
    And it needed rejuvenating.
Moved it from the north side to the west side of the house.

Reused old Hills Antenna. (Still looked & worked good)
Renewed Antenna Mast, ($25 from Bunnings.)
2 Coach Screws, (Laying around in Garage)
Replaced the Coax, (left over from Satelite dish installation)
Cable Clips & Cable Ties, (Laying around in Garage)
    Re-Solder Lounge Room floor Plug!

    Looks and works great now.

    .......
Also Fitted a new Antenna to the Bungalow Roof in January.
    Antenna was gifted to me.
    New Mast, $25 from Bunnings.
2 Coach Screws, (Laying around in Garage)
New Coax, (left over from Satelite dish installation)
Cable Clips & Cable Ties, (Laying around in Garage)
New Wall socket (Laying around in Garage)
    Tuning was.......
Pointed new antenna in same general direction as surrounding antennas.
Picture is fine. Use this antenna for PC HD tuner and portable TV in computer room.

(Both easy tasks for a Chippy or Handyman)
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
