    What is the system?
    Why is it unwanted?
And what part of the intercom system is it on?

The system probably needs this voltage for a loop-current signalling system, or to supply bias for FET microphones etc..

Crackling in such a system usually indicates a noisy switch or connection, maybe check its cable terminations.

If the unit is part of a mass produced system then it would generally already have the required DC blocking installed, if it was necessary.
