This morning I loaded the DVD that started all the kerfuffle, opened up the convertor program and did a 'Full Disc' copy then copied it to the Media player without any hassles.
By a 'Full Disc', it did that way rather than file by file as before.
Now whether that made any difference, the more available space on the HDD to do whatever is needed to do the conversion ,I dont know.
I hope my stumbling bumbling about may be of some use to others who may strike problems in this area.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say, I just dont ever remember saying it !!
