Default DVD Disc read problem on Neo Gamma R8 IOS 249 (Rev17)

    Hi All,

Im a newbie when it comes to sofmods but have succesfully installed the homebrew channel and followed this guide to the letter which I did all steps carefullly and succesfully, All steps including installing the cIOS and IOS's etc were all succesfull, Nothing failed to install, All went OK.

I now have the backup loader channel installed also as part of this guide which I am trying to use to load backups, This is the guide I used here:

The problem is that when I try and load any backed up disc via NeoGamma R8 I get "DVD read error (1167). Im not sure if I need to adjust the config settings in NeoGamma to allow it to load backups or something like that but it loads originals perfectly, No problems. Being a newbie I need some help here please.

    Thanks all

How old is the wii ? it may not be able to read backups depending on the dvd drive it has.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, Wii is an older model console, Think its at least 4 years old.

The problem may be what Im doing rather than the program itself, Being a newbie to softmodding Im not sure if I need to patch the ISO in order for it to work or do something else first prior to attempting to play it with Neo Gamma, What Im doing at the moment is simply installing a backup that I know is OK and has been working in a modchipped Wii and attempting to play it in the softmodded console, Then I get the disc read error. This is happening with all my backups that are known good copies on Verbatim discs. I suspect Im doing something wrong with the process but not sure what. Any help appreciated - Thanks

You could install cioscorp (now darkcorp) and play backups straight from the disc channel rather than neogamma. I here Darkcorp 1.1 is pretty mature and the uninstaller works ok now.
