Yes there is a way I have a One XL version: 1 I had the same maps as yours when I first got it.

The first thing you'll need is a new SD card, Just a small one 256MB will do. ( I did read somewere that you shouldn't use anything bigger then 2GB in our version) Then you can keep your original SD card just in case you need it.

Let me know when your ready for the next step

    DND,

I have a One XL but mine doesn't have an SD slot??

Will this upgrade work for mine too?

    Mine has v8.010 maps.

I've just started looking into this, seems very involved.

But you'll probably have a newer Navcore on your system then this one

Ok I have uploaded the Navcore for you
I had to change the default Language on it to English to save you a bit of time stuffing around, hope you like yoda lol

    Unrar all your dowloaded goodies

1, Put New SD Card in your TomTom.

2, Plug the tomtom into your USB cable and connect it to the PC (don't start tomtom Home)

3, Start up the tomtom, on the tomtom screen select yes.

4, Go to my Computer and you should see your tomtom SD card, You need to right click on it and format it (Quick format will do)

5, Now Copy and Past the new Navcore files onto the tomtom SD Card.

6, Copy and Past the "Au2661" map folder to tomtom SD Card

7, If you got the "Speed Camera's" copy the 2 files from in the folder into the map folder (Au2661) on your tomtom.

    8, Now Start the Keygen4.1

9, Now the keygens running click the "Make Map Keys"

    10, Then click "Make DCT's"

Don't worry about the "Truck corrupted meta" error that comes up. it will come up a few times.

11, Click "OK" when thats finished

12, wait a min till you see the tomtom's not doing anything then exit the keygen.

13, Unplug the cable out of the tomtom and with any luck your Tomtom should start up as normal with the new navcore and maps running.

you can check by hitting the clock then hit the version and you should see the APP version (navcore) and Map version

that should be as clear as mud

I think I have it right fingers crossed

OK. After a bit of checking, mine is just the 'XL'. (i.e doesn't have an SD slot.)

    Navcore...that's like the operating system...yes?

    P N A :TomTom XL 30 Series – 1GB TTS
    DeviceName:TomTom XL
    BootLoaderVersion:55011
    Serialno.:
    DeviceUniqueID:
    NavCore:8010.9369
    Current Map: Australia
    Map Version No:815.2059

Will your version (above) be suitable for mine? Is it necessary to change the NavCore?

When making a backup copy of my current software I can just ctrl + A and copy everything to a folder on my hard drive...yeah??

Sorry if this is all a bit noobie, I'm trying to wade thru the Tutorial : Newbie guide to update your Tomtom at the same time.

Sorry OzzieChris if I'm hijacking your thread a little here.

I'm not sure if it will work on yours but you can always try and if it doesn't you "should" be able to put it back to your original one. Just by deleting whats on there and copying your backup back on it.

When I make a backup I just go to "my computer" and right click on the tomtom and zip it up to desktop, But you can just copy everything on the tomtom to a folder.

Just remember to always keep you Backup somewhere safe

    Default It's all good

It's not as difficult as I thought once I read through your instructions a couple of times.

Your version of NavCore seems to be working fine on my unit. It's much faster and more functionality. Yoda made me laugh, I thought you were kidding about that!

For future reference, where do I look to find where to download the latest maps and NavCore? Or do I just come back here and ask??

Thanks very much for your help.

(I typed out a reply but it seems to have vanished!)

It wasn't as difficult as I thought once I read through your instructions a couple of times.

Your Navcore seems to be running fine and is much faster than the old one with more functionality.

Just running through a simulation going along some country roads and notice the map seems to get stuck every so often even though everything else is ticking over. I suspect it is because I'm running it at 500%

Thanks very much for your help.

Can you post your version of TomTom in this

Just so if someone asks we will know.

Normally when a new map comes out someone will post up a link for it.

Well...it's weird. I noticed last night after running the info tool again that it list the NavCore version as being the same??

All of the menu item icons are different and there seems to be a few extra ones.

    Before.
    P N A :TomTom XL 30 Series – 1GB TTS
    DeviceName:TomTom XL
    BootLoaderVersion:55011
    Serialno.:
    DeviceUniqueID:
    NavCore:8010.9369
    Current Map: Australia
    Map Version No:815.2059

    After.
    P N A :TomTom XL 30 Series – 1GB TTS
    DeviceName:TomTom ONE
    BootLoaderVersion:55136
    Serialno.:
    DeviceUniqueID:
    NavCore:8010.9369
    Current Map: Au2661
    Map Version No:845.2661

To make it even more confusing, on the device it says,

    App 8.562

    <edit>

    OK. couple more questions.

    1. How do I change the sound for the safety cameras? I can't see it in the POI menu or find an option to change it anywhere.

    2. When connected to Home and I select 'Operate my device', it says that no maps can be found. Is this because they it s named Au2661??
******(OK, re-installed everything again but this re-named the folder 'Australia', thought it made a diff at first but still says that no map are found. Anyway, doesn't matter, I was just trying to set a password.)**************

There is a file on the tomtom that you can change to make it say the right version of navcore But I every worry about it, the tomtom is the only place I look for version on.

Safety Cameras, go to the menu to "Live Services" then "Safety Alerts" then "Change warning preferences" and in there you can change options for them.

TomTom Home I don't use it very offen only for map share updates. But I know you have to patch it to take the cracked maps. The keygen does it.
I don't think the operate tomtom works with it though.

Its good to hear you got it going with out any problems
I know what its like when you read 100's of overly complicated Tutorials. I wish it was this easy when I first had to do my one, I spent hours trying to work it out

Thanks matey, got safety cam sound sussed. I also boosted the volume of the ogg file to make it a bit louder, haven't tested it in the car yet.

One last question for you. To update the , I just replaced those 2 files on my device. I don't need to run the keygen over it again do I??
